  Chapter 17 The very second Thaddeus got home, his whole family pounced on him for answers if the night was a nightmare or an absolute daydream. Thaddeus chuckled. “We actually didn’t see very much of homecoming because something really weird happened,” he said then launched into the story.   Chapter 16 Lexi and Thaddeus eventually headed back into the hospital room to tell everyone the good news. They held hands, as if to give a hint. “Hey guys! We have some news,” Lexi said excitedly. “What is it?” Evie wondered. Thaddeus and Lexi smiled at each other. “We’re boyfriend and girlfriend now,” Thaddeus said, grinning widely as though all of his dreams had just come true, which, I guess they did. “Finally!!” everyone and I mean EVERYONE in the room exclaimed.   Chapter 15 “Okay, minor setback,” Lexi said, trying not to sound concerned, and failing. Breanna looked at her like she was nuts. “Minor?! She just died!” she reminded Lexi. Lexi nodded. “We can salvage this!” First, they tried the defibrillator about four or five and each time it didn’t work. “Okay, we’ll try this!” Then they did a healing incantation (and, no, not the one from Tangled,) but that didn’t work either. They were a very subdued lot, indeed.   Chapter 14 When Lexi and Thaddeus arrived to Homecoming, they were the last of their friend group to get there. When they walked in, the fangirls squealed about how pretty they all looked. Then Lexi saw something that deeply amused her. “Guys, Adam ended up going with Karen!” she giggled. Everyone in their group began to laugh to see Karen on Adam’s arm, who was looking both disgruntled and irritated about it. The song that was playing when Thaddeus and Lexi got there ended, and a swing dance song started up. All of the kids gave a great cheer and started dancing to it.   Chapter 13 About a month after Adam dumped Lexi, Mal’s midwife put her on bedrest until the baby would arrive and it was official: Ben’s anxiety was getting near the breaking point. Since the baby was about to be born, Belle and Beast took over everything so Ben could be there to take care of Mal and they both needed things to do, so Ben brought books from the library and snacks from the kitchen. Ben would take care of Mal, of course, but he also would escape into a thick book most of the time. “Ben, are you okay?” Mal asked finally after Ben just read and read for hours on end but also kept looking up at Mal every five seconds.  Chapter 12 On Lexi’s way home, she asked her mom if she could have control of the music in the car. While she was put back together by Thaddeus’s gentle hands and kind voice, she was still in a great deal of pain. The first song Lexi played was the song she always heard her sisters listen to when they had a difficult breakup and it was Picture to Burn by Taylor Swift. The next one was Bad Blood also by Taylor Swift. (The part where it says, “Did you have to hit me where I’m weak, baby, I couldn’t breathe and rub it in so deep, salt in the wound like you’re laughing right at me,” Lexi related to on a spiritual level.)
