Chapter 17

The very second Thaddeus got home, his whole family pounced on him for answers if the night was a nightmare or an absolute daydream. Thaddeus chuckled.

“We actually didn’t see very much of homecoming because something really weird happened,” he said then launched into the story. When he was done, the whole group was wide-eyed and speechless.

“Woah, that was a lot,” Austin said. “But, nicely done!”

Hadley and Lucy ran over to Thaddeus’s side of the table and both looked at him in amazement.

“We knew you guys were gonna be together!” they squealed in unison as they bounced up and down. Thaddeus laughed.

“All I know is, this was the best night of my life.”

After Thaddeus showered and changed into his pajamas (a green T-shirt and grey sweat pants), he called his sister to tell her all about it because she would definitely want to hear about this. He sat down on his bed and started a video chat and told Hailey everything.

“Wait! So, Lexi is your TRUE LOVE? That’s awesome! You have done amazing!” Hailey squealed.

“Thanks,” Thaddeus laughed. Whenever someone fangirled, he found this very funny.

“So, are you in trouble with her brothers?” Hailey asked, sounding a little concerned. Thaddeus scoffed jokingly.

“Trouble? You’re only in trouble if you get caught, (Aladdin)” Just then, another call interrupted the one Thaddeus had going with his older sister. It was Conner. “Aah! I’m in trouble! (Aladdin)” Thaddeus exclaimed.

“What? Why?” Hailey asked.

“Um, Conner is calling me…” Thaddeus told her, his voice an octave higher than what it used to be. Hailey winced.

“I think you’d better answer it,” she advised. Thaddeus reluctantly complied and put his sister on hold and answered the call.

“Hello?” Thaddeus said, trying to keep his voice from trembling and failing.

“Did you kiss Lexi?” Conner said in a scolding tone. Thaddeus winced.

“Y-y-yes,” he whispered. Just then, Lexi burst into the room in her light blue pajamas with little sunshine’s printed all over them because she had heard some suspicious things being said.

“What are you guys doing?” Lexi accused as Thaddeus heaved a heavy sigh of relief.

“Nothing,” Conner told her just she snatched the phone from him.

“Sorry, Thaddeus. Don’t let them scare you,” she said with a small smile. Thaddeus chuckled.

“Okay. I love you,” he said. Lexi smiled bigger and flushed light pink.

“I love you, too,” Lexi grinned and twirled a lock of her still-curled hair around her finger right before she hit the red button to end the call. Then she turned on her brothers. “Really? I haven’t even been dating him for twenty-four hours and you’re already tormenting him.” Then she turned on her heel and left the room.

 

Meanwhile, in Auradon, two guards, one male, one female, came down to give Mad Maddy and her now prison mates their daily meal: A rotting apple, some cheese past its expiration date, and some corn that was turning brown. The evil villains happened to catch what the guards were saying to each other, though.

“Did you hear what happened last night?” the female guard asked. The male guard shook his head.

“No, what happened?”

“I heard a rumor that the royal baby was born last night! Only, there were two! The second baby killed her majesty but his majesty brought her back to life with true love’s kiss,” the female guard explained dreamily. The other guard looked amazed.

“Really? Did their majesties know there was another baby?” he asked. The female guard shook her head.

“No, I heard that the baby was spelled in,” she told the male guard. Mad Maddy snickered with her henchmen, but the Gastons were too loud. The guards turned around.

“Did you have something to do with this?” the male guard asked sternly. Mad Maddy instantly assumed that calm, snooty, demeaner she was always using.

“No one said anything of the sort,” she said, sounding cool, but highly annoying as she always did and throwing a nasty look toward the Gaston twins. The guards looked at each other like they did NOT believe this story.

“How about you tell us the truth and we spare your life?” the female guard said quietly, but sounding menacing. At that, Mad Maddy scoffed.

“Oh, please! You guys are Auradonion! All people in Auradon are goody-goodies! Like you would ever kill anyone!”

The guards exchanged glances and rolled their eyes.

“Oh, we won’t?” the male guard said, pulling a sword from a sheath. Mad Maddy blanched.

“Aah! Um, I spelled the baby in there knowing that it would kill Mal! Please don’t hurt me!”

The[B1]  male guard turned to the female one while he put his sword back in the sheath and pulled out his cell phone instead.

“Watch them. I think their majesties would like to know about this.”

Mal and Ben were sitting in the hospital room, trying to give a bottle to little baby Michelle, (that was what they had decided to name their little princess. Their little was named Braydon,) when Ben’s phone rang. “It’s Mad Maddy’s guard,” Ben said, sounding a bit nervous as he took the call. “What happened?”

“We finally got some answers out of Mad Maddy that you might want to know about,” the guard told him and dove into the story that Mad Maddy had told him. By the end, Ben was very quiet.

“Your Majesty?” the guard questioned. Ben sighed.

“Release them all and deliver them to the Isle of the Doomed,” Ben ordered.

“Yes, your majesty,” the guard replied faithfully. All of the evil villains that acted up in the past months were sent to the Isle of the Doomed, an even smaller remote island connected to the Isle of the Lost that housed Maleficent’s old home, the Forbidden Fortress. There the second-generation villains would suffer the same way they did on the Isle of the Lost with no magic, no technology except for one very small television that they would have to share to see Mal, being perfectly happy and alive to remind them of how good always wins and their evil schemes never would have gotten them anywhere.
