Chapter 1 of the book two rewrite!!!!!!:D:D

Chapter 1

That summer, the Pieper’s house was packed for the last time and they got in their cars and drove all of the way to Albuquerque New Mexico to their new house. Well, the house they would live in before they built their forever home. Anyway, all of their stuff was there and they just had to unpack everything so the fangirls and their one yes-fanboy came to help them unpack on the Fourth of July. That day, when Lexi’s friends arrived, Lexi came running out to greet them.

“Hello! It’s so great to see you all!” she cried as she threw her arms around Breanna. Thaddeus raised his eyebrows as he got a good look at Lexi. He hadn’t gone with the fangirls in Auradon to see Lexi, James and Conner in a very long time and the last time he saw her, she was thirteen.

Wow, I thought she was lovely before, but she blossomed. No, no, we’re just going to be friends, Thaddeus thought as Lexi came toward him and wrapped her arms around him in a big hug.

“Oh, Thaddeus, it is so great to see you again!” Lexi smiled. Thaddeus grinned down at her. He was almost a full foot taller than Lexi was.

“It’s great to see you too, Fangirl!” he said as he hugged her back. “Fangirl” was a nickname that he had given her while she had been gone. Lexi giggled as she let go and opened up the door to let them in and they got to work. They unpacked all of the books on the book shelf and put all the games in a closet. The bare minimum of what Lexi's mom would allow them to do.

“I missed you guys so much!” Lexi said as they sat down in the living room. Kaylee smiled.

“We missed you, too! How was it, living in Jefferson?” she wondered. Lexi shuddered.

“It was awful! Well, at least school was. Everyone in school made fun of me because of my tendency squeal when I’m happy or excited,” Lexi explained.

Thaddeus’s face suddenly felt hot. That was really awful, making fun of someone just because of something they do. “It was much better in California. No one made fun of me there, they just teased me playfully.”

Thaddeus felt nervous for some reason. Like he was going to stutter if he started speaking. Butterflies were flying around in his stomach. It was hard think about anything but Lexi and why had fallen for her when they were kids. She was so genuine, so herself. So kind and giving and loyal to each and everyone of her friends. Including him. Plus, she was gorgeous. She had shoulder length strawberry blonde hair with curtain bangs that always fell in her face, deep hazel eyes, freckles across her nose, and this smile that just lit up a room-

Oh, boy. I'm not over my feelings for her. How weird. Thaddeus thought, sweat beading on his brow. But, wait. Why is that a bad thing? I can ask her out now. The thought excited him. Though, it made him incredibly nervous at the same time.

I'm going to need help, Thaddeus concluded.

"Thaddeus, what do you think?" Lexi's voice wondered, though it sounded far away.

"Huh?" Thaddeus replied, suddenly being jerked out of his stupor by the very cause of it felt bizarre.

"I was just was wondering if you guys wanted to stay for dinner?" Lexi repeated.

"Oh, yeah. That sounds great," Thaddeus agreed, grinning as his glasses slipped off his nose.

For the first time in many years, they all hung out together again. They got some of the board games out the new game closet and then they ate the brisket that Lexi's dad had cooked on their smoker. Then all sat in the backyard to watch the beautiful firework show before Thaddeus took everyone back home again.

“It was so great seeing her again!” Bridgett said happily. Thaddeus was just quiet until they dropped Kaylee off at her house.

“So, I think I still like Lexi,” Thaddeus muttered awkwardly as he turned out of Kaylee’s neighborhood. Breanna snorted.

“Why am I not surprised?” she teased. Thaddeus chuckled.

“Okay, I need your help. How should I ask her to homecoming?” Breanna shrugged.

“Maybe you should do something Descendants themed. Something like- "

Thaddeus cut her off as he had an idea.

“Ben’s cotilion proposal!” Thaddeus exclaimed. Breanna nodded.

“Yes! You have done your homework, my friend,” she praised. Thaddeus smiled and looked relieved that he had something to work with.

“That is a great idea!” Gabrielle said from the back seat. Breanna turned around to face her.

“Listen, you do not say anything about this. Especially not to Lexi,” she said to Gabrielle seriously. Gabrielle nodded.

“Obviously,” she said, sounding sassy. Breanna sighed in relief. So, towards the beginning of the school year, Thaddeus would ask Lexi to homecoming. He would get her favorite flowers: daisies and lavender sprigs because Lexi was so special to him. And hopefully, she would say yes.
