A Cute Little Moment: Chapter XI: Lexi and Thaddeus's dancing moment: Part Three:):):):):):):)
Lexi and Thaddeus’s dancing moment: Part Three😊
“Thaddeus!” shrieked Lexi, rushing through the school doors
to see her true love after the night before. She had attended many of her dance
studio’s cast list announcements, but never one where they had read her name
off the list first.
“Lexi!” Thaddeus said, grinning as he caught Lexi in his
arms and kissed her forehead. “How did it go last night?”
“Thaddeus, I’m the Sugarplum Fairy,” Lexi whispered,
grinning as her cheeks flushed. Thaddeus’s smile grew even wider and he threw
his arms around Lexi’s waist and scooped her up and swung her around in the
air.
“Lexi! That’s fantastic! I’m so proud of you,
Fangirl!” exclaimed Thaddeus as Lexi giggled with glee as Thaddeus started to
put her down, but not before she had planted a kiss on his lips.
“Thank you so much, sweetheart.” Lexi whispered. She had
been thrilled when she first heard the news, but now she had told Thaddeus, she
was even more enthusiastic than before.
“Lexi, that is huge!” Thaddeus said excitedly, taking Lexi’s
hands and looking at her like she was as precious as an amethyst.
“I know! I’m so nervous and excited all at once!” Lexi said,
sounding like she had just drank ten cups of coffee. Thaddeus smiled gently,
moving Lexi’s hair out of her eyes.
“You’re going to be amazing in this role! I know that you,
of all people, can bring it to life. You can do this, Lex.” Thaddeus whispered,
kissing Lexi’s cheek. Lexi giggled softly, leaning her head against Thaddeus’
chest for a moment.
“Hey, is it okay if I ask you for favor?” she asked.
Thaddeus grinned.
“Anything, Fangirl,” he replied, brushing his lips on her
right hand.
“The guy they cast as the nutcracker prince is out sick
right now. I was wondering if you could help a little bit with the partnering?”
“Uh, I could try, but I don’t know ballet,” Thaddeus said
uncertainly. Lexi beamed.
“Oh, don’t worry. They only told me to work on one thing and
it’s pretty easy. All you have to do is lift me in a certain way,”
“Well, that I can do,” Thaddeus said, and Lexi could hear
the smile in his voice as he lifted her up and brushed a kiss along her lips.
“Y’all are gross!” Breanna said, interjecting on Lexi and
Thaddeus’s little romantic moment as she walked in with Gabrielle.
“Hey!” Protested Lexi. “You’re the one who-“
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Breanna replied, interrupting
Lexi.
“Let’s get down to business,” Gabrielle said excitedly while
all the rest sang something under their breaths. “What roles did you get?”
Lexi grinned again. “Oh, you know, a snowflake, the Snow
Queen’s understudy, The Sugarplum Fairy-“
“WHAT?!” Breanna and Gabrielle exclaimed at the same time as
they threw themselves at Lexi. “That’s FANTASTIC!!!! We’re so proud of you!”
“Thanks, guys.” Lexi said, sounding giddy. She felt as giddy
as she sounded, especially since she had amazing friends and a very supportive
and sweet boyfriend who were excited about her progression and success.
While Lexi waited for Thaddeus to arrive at her house after
school, she picked up Midnight Sun and started reading about how Edward was
listening and watching Bella and Mike Newton’s conversation as Mike Newton
touched Bella’s hair. That’s when Edward promptly uprooted a tree from its
roots. Lexi let out a shriek of laughter.
“Oh, this is way better than Twilight!” she giggled,
thinking about how Thaddeus must have done something like that every time
“Adam” was with her. Except, she didn’t think Thaddeus could uproot a tree like
he was just ripping a leaf off its branch. But I bet he would try, Lexi
thought just as the doorbell rang. Lexi hastily got up and sprinted to the
door.
“Why hello there,” Lexi said, dramatically leaning against
the door frame.
“Fancy meeting you here,” Thaddeus replied, matching Lexi’s
theatricality as they both burst into laughter.
“Come on in,” Lexi said as she grabbed Thaddeus’s hand and
pulled him in. Lexi led Thaddeus into the living room where she had been
sitting and he chuckled.
“Hey, that’s a great book,” he commented as Lexi turned and
smiled at him.
“Thaddeus Hawthorne, you like Twilight?”
“I mean, yeah. My sister got me into it,”
“Edward or Jacob?” Lexi replied seriously.
“Edward. Bella is way too old for Jacob and they’re not
quite each other’s type. Plus, Edward saw her first.”
“Good!” Lexi said before busting out in giggles. “You know,
you kind of remind me of him,”
“You’re better than Bella,” Thaddeus said honestly, slipping
his arm around Lexi’s shoulders as Lexi beamed. “So, teach me what we do for
this partnering step.”
“Okay!” Lexi said excitedly as she turned to face Thaddeus.
“So, first, you need to put your left leg back like this,” she explained,
demonstrating it for him as he did so. “Leg just a bit more to the right-
good!”
“Ow,” Thaddeus winced. “How do you do this every day?”
“Where does it hurt?” Lexi replied.
“Um…” was all Thaddeus got out before Lexi giggled.
“Oh, your butt’s cramping, isn’t it?”
“So bad. Anyway, what’s next?”
Lexi couldn’t get her reply out at first because she was so
overcome with laughter that she was snorting which made Thaddeus laugh, too.
“Okay,” Lexi finally spoke. “Then you put your arms like
this,” she told him and he complied. “And hold your core- that’s how you keep
control over your body,”
“Okay, how exactly do you do that?”
“Here, try and put my hands together with your abs,” Lexi
said, placing her hands about two inches apart on Thaddeus’s stomach.
Thaddeus’s blushed bright red and his heart started beating like they had
already begun dancing, but he did try and Lexi’s method succeeded. Lexi
herself, hadn’t expected for Thaddeus’s abs to feel as strong as they did, but
soon she found herself blushing until she looked like a tomato with a sunburn.
“What’s next?” Thaddeus wondered when he found his voice.
Lexi looked up and smiled at him.
“You’re ready to try. So, here’s what’s going to happen is
I’m going to lift my right leg in an arabesque and turn to face you. Then I’m
going to run to you and turn around so my back is facing you and lift my left
leg and you grab that leg and my torso and lift me. Then, just ever so
slightly, tilt me toward the ground. Got it?”
“I think so?” Thaddeus told Lexi and she smiled at him
again.
“Don’t worry. I’ll guide you through it as we go.”
“Okay,” Thaddeus grinned at seeing Lexi so excited as she
gracefully sauntered to the other side of the room.
“Ready?” Called Lexi, turning her head to where the audience
would be.
“Ready!” Thaddeus confirmed as Lexi extended her leg into
arabesque and twisted around to face Thaddeus as she ran toward him. As she
turned her back to him again, he inhaled as she elevated her left leg in
arabesque as Thaddeus hastily took hold a few inches above Lexi’s knee. Her
torso followed.
“Good, now dip me toward the ground,” Lexi instructed as
Thaddeus tightened his hold on Lexi’s body before tilting her to face the
ground. Lexi’s breathing was heavy, her eyes scanning the floor as she grinned.
She couldn’t believe that she taught Thaddeus ballet and they did it
beautifully on the first try. The first try. “Oh, my gosh! That was
awesome! Okay, now put me down and-“ Before Lexi finished the sentence,
Thaddeus flipped her in his arms so he was cradling her, before he put her
down, quickly grabbed her hand and twirled her to him. Lexi let out a trembling
breath as Thaddeus, slipping his arm around her waist and holding her hand,
grinned softly at Lexi, making her flush pink.
“May I have this dance, my darling?”
“Why, I thought you’d never ask,” Replied Lexi, placing her
left hand on Thaddeus’s shoulder. Thaddeus’s grin was contagious, and it only
spread more across his face when she agreed to dance with him, even though he
knew she would. It felt amazing that he no longer had to pine for her and that
she felt the same way he did about her. It also made him feel better that he
wasn’t the only who blushed in the relationship.
“Are you excited for this year’s Nutcracker, Lex?” Thaddeus
whispered.
“Excited and nervous,” Lexi whispered back.
“I know you can do this, Fangirl. You’re the most gorgeous
ballerina I’ve ever seen.” Thaddeus told her, twirling her out and back into
his arms as a wave of welcome warmth swept over Lexi. Her lashes fluttered over
her eyes briefly before opening and she found Thaddeus had led both of them
into the kitchen. They continued moving in a dreamlike waltz, not really moving
that much. Thaddeus, feeling as though he was about to open his eyes and find
himself lying in his bed, leisurely spun Lexi in slow circle before Lexi
instinctively rocked back on her heels, allowing Thaddeus to list her back to
his left arm. Once Lexi was standing upright, she went on her highest
demi-pointe, peering deep into Thaddeus’s lovely, understanding, telling eyes.
“I love you,” Lexi whispered, her heart all of a flutter as
Thaddeus stooped down a bit and brushed his lips along Lexi’s in a soft, gentle
manner. Lexi’s face was warm and if they both hadn’t shut their eyes, Thaddeus
would have noticed Lexi’s completely giddy expression as she pushed her lips a
little bit harder against Thaddeus’s. That was when both of their eyes opened,
widespread and slightly panicked. “What just happened?” Lexi exclaimed, pulling
away from Thaddeus.
“I don’t know,” he replied, running his hand through his
hair. They both had seen something, as though from a dream. It felt like they
had been there before, them waltzing in Lexi’s kitchen and they both suddenly
knew why.
“Did you see it, too?” Lexi wondered hesitantly.
“Yes,” Thaddeus said, his voice sounding far away. “I
remember that night so well,”
“Me, too. That was when I first realized that I was in love
with you. When you were there for me when Adam wasn’t. But then-“Lexi paused,
shaking her head in disbelief. “We almost kissed, but I stopped us. I didn’t
want to, though.”
“Yeah,” Thaddeus murmured. “I felt terrible about that. I
spent at least 20 minutes outside your door.”
“I was too dehydrated to go to school the next day because I
was crying all night- I was tired and I felt sick and you came and brought me
cookies.”
“I confessed my love to you that day,” Thaddeus spoke,
shoving his glasses back up his nose. “And- that was when we forgot!”
“Yeah!” Lexi laughed. “I was about to tell you that I was
breaking up with Adam and that I wanted to be with you,”
“You were?” Thaddeus’s whole face lit up, grinning from ear
to ear again before a frown took over his face. “Oh, Adam got in the way,” he
sighed. Lexi stood on her toes again, turning Thaddeus’s face to her.
“But he can’t get in the way of true love, Thaddeus.” Lexi
wrapped her arms around Thaddeus’s neck, kissing him softly and snuggling
against his chest.
“Right you are, Fangirl,” Thaddeus whispered kissing Lexi
softly on her nose as she smiled shyly. “Right you are.”
