Chapter 6 of the Fangirls book two rewrite!!!!!!!:D:D
Chapter 6
The day after the fangirls and Thaddeus found the letter,
Ben received a phone call from the museum guard saying the Dragon’s Eye scepter
had been stolen. Mal and Ben had tried to keep that on the down-low, but the
walls have ears and word got out. As you can guess, people were very scared.
Ben and Mal had tried to restore calm by telling their subjects that they had
team of people trying to fix it (meaning the fangirls and Thaddeus, of course,)
but that didn’t seem to do anything. Just to make things worse, Camelot was
having problems again. Just like last time. But they did manage to find Audrey
and imprison her and man, did she out up a fight! She didn’t seem herself,
though. She seemed evil. Okay, I take that back, she seemed herself. But I will
admit that she did get a really great redemption arc, but I digress. On the
next Wednesday, when everyone was gathered, they began to discuss as they so
often do.
“Okay, we locked Audrey up but the weather’s no different.
But we discussed this with the royal council and we agreed that she should stay
locked up because she seemed like she was when she actually was the
villain.” Mal updated.
“So, we’re right back at the beginning.” sighed Breanna as
Mal nodded. Evie gave Breanna a meaningful look.
“May I see that book of yours?” she asked kindly. Breanna
handed over her copy of Return to the Isle of the Lost, which was the graphic
novel. Evie shuddered suddenly.
“Is that really how my eyeshadow looked that day?”
Evie cringed. Then she returned to focus.
“I think that we should call Yen Sid and invite him and
Anti-heroes club to the next meeting.” Evie proposed. Thaddeus’s jaw dropped.
“The Yen Sid? He is my hero!” Thaddeus exclaimed. Lexi
turned to him, smiling.
“Really? I’ll bet you were excited when he showed up in the
books, huh?”
Thaddeus grinned and nodded. Ben smiled.
“Well, Evie, that’s brilliant. That’s exactly what we should
do.” Mal pulled out her phone and dialed Yen Sid’s phone number.
“Why, Mal! This is a surprise! Congratulations on the
announcement of your baby! What can I do for you?”
Mal chuckled.
“Thank you, professor. So, you know the weather we’ve been
having?” she asked.
“Yes.”
“We’ve been trying to figure that out and we were wondering
if you could help us figure it out and come to a meeting a week from today? And
if you could contact the anti-heroes too, that would be great.” Yen Sid
chuckled.
“Of course! What time?”
After Mal had answered that question and after some small
talk, they hung up with the new plans made.
The following Wednesday, all of the anti-heroes and Yen Sid
were gathered in council room, which got rather crowded after a while. Even Mad
Maddy showed up, even though she was originally a double agent. Thaddeus
couldn’t believe he was breathing the same as the Great Yen Sid and went to say
hello, but was interrupted by the fact the meeting had started. Ben welcomed
everybody and then turned things over to Mal.
“So, do you know what’s happening, Professor?” she inquired.
Yen Sid smiled, but it didn’t seem like his usual smile.
“Yes, I do. The greatest thing to ever happen in Auradon
history!” he shouted. Hadie, Mal’s little brother raised his eyebrows.
“What?” he said, sounding shocked. Yen Sid gave an evil
laugh.
“This is exactly what’s supposed to happen! How can none of
you see that?”
Lexi stood up
suddenly with an angry look on her face.
“This is not great! This is awful and you know it!” she
cried. Thaddeus and all of the fangirls exchanged worried looks, but Lexi
didn’t even look very sure of herself anymore.
“I could do things that you could never dream of, girl.” Yen
Sid said menacingly. Thaddeus inhaled sharply as he stood up and wrapped an arm
around Lexi’s now trembling shoulders.
“Don’t even think about touching her.” Thaddeus said softly,
but sounding angry and menacing as he moved Lexi just slightly behind him. Ben
and Jay suddenly stood up too and grabbed Yen Sid by the arms and dragged him
out while he screamed all sorts of colorful things as he kicked and thrashed.
Everyone was shocked into silence while they all just stared at each other. Mal
clapped her hands.
“Okay, everybody! Um, Yen Sid just. . . wasn’t feeling
himself today! You all can go!”
Thaddeus suddenly removed his arm from Lexi’s shoulders and
cleared his throat awkwardly. And then he just stared at his shoes like they
were the most interesting things in the world. Lexi chuckled and her cheeks
flushed light pink.
“Wow, that was really brave. Thank you.” She said shyly.
Thaddeus cleared his throat again and blushed too.
“You’re welcome. I just didn’t want to see anything bad
happen to you.” Lexi looked at Thaddeus a little bit differently than she
usually did, but she didn’t say anything.
That night, Mal and Ben sat down on their bed, thinking
about the crazy thing that happened that day.
“What do you think that was about?” Ben asked. Mal shrugged.
“It looked like a spell to me. I just don’t know which one.”
Ben nodded in agreement and put his hand on Mal’s shoulder and moved it back
and forth in a comforting manor. “Wait! Mind control! That must have been it!”
Mal exclaimed suddenly. Ben nodded as he realized she was probably right!
“You’re right! I remember when I was under that love spell
at cotilion, I acted a bit like that!”
“Yeah! The question is who spelled him. . .” Mal sighed. Ben
scratched his head.
“Did anyone seem suspicious back at the meeting? Other than
Yen Sid, of course.” Mal shook her head.
“No. No one was.”
