Chapter 5 of the Fangirls, book two rewrite!!!!!!!!:D:D
Chapter 5
As the fangirls and Thaddeus walked
back to their usual spot they used to teleport back to their dimension, they
were all a buzz about what was happening. “What do think is causing all of
this?” Gabrielle wondered. Thaddeus shrugged. He was alright now from his
little trauma-induced anxiety attack.
“I don’t know. I think that maybe we
should study the book, too,” he suggested. Lexi smiled and nodded in approval.
“Ooh, that’s a good idea,” she agreed.
Then she laughed. “Would someone share with me?”
The other fangirls stalked ahead,
leaving Lexi to Thaddeus, which it looked like Breanna and Gabrielle went ahead
on purpose to leave them alone. He was grateful for that, though, he didn’t
think that was a good idea.
“So, how are things with Adam going so
far?” Thaddeus inquired, somewhat awkwardly. Lexi shrugged again.
“Good. Though, the other day, he
didn’t hold the door for me when we were going into the gym. I’m going to have
to talk to him about that.” As Lexi walked ahead, Thaddeus buried his face in
his palms. That amateur! If Thaddeus were dating her, he would hold the door
for Lexi and hold her hand like any fella would for a girl like Lexi. But he
would shut his mouth and respect the fact that Lexi like somebody else, even
though he wanted to punch Adam in his stupid handsome face and knock out his
perfect teeth. But he wouldn’t.
On the next Wednesday, the fangirls
and Thaddeus brought their copies of Return to the Isle of the Lost to school
(well, except Lexi, of course,) and were studying it before classes started to
see what they could find. Well, they were studying it, until Adam showed
up. “Hey, what are you guys doing?” he greeted before he put his hands on
Lexi’s shoulders and kissed her forehead, which made Thaddeus sad and mad all
at once. He wanted to do that and he half wanted to say to Adam,
“Get your hands off of her and please
never touch her again.” Especially since he had looked Thaddeus right in the
eyes while he had shown gentle affection to Lexi, but Thaddeus obviously didn’t
say nor do anything. Jerk. . . Thaddeus thought grumpily.
Lexi smiled up at Adam.
“Oh, we’re just having something like
book club,” she said hesitantly. Adam nodded.
“Ah, I see. I’ve never read that book
before,” he confessed. Lexi chuckled.
“Oh, they’re so good. You should
definitely read them,” she recommended. Adam nodded again and said he had to go
because he had to make a phone call. “Oh, okay,” Lexi said, sounding a little
wistful. But Thaddeus would be lying if he said he wasn’t slightly relieved.
After school, they all headed to
Auradon where they were instructed to go to the council room. “The council
room?” Bridgett asked in disbelief. Cogsworth nodded.
“Yes, off you go!” he urged. They
smiled at each other and sped off toward the council room. Upon arriving, they
got sit down at the grand, polished wood table and join the King and Queen of
Auradon to converse about all of their magical world problems. Lexi turned to
Breanna, barely suppressing a squeal.
“I can’t believe we’re really here!”
she giggled.
“I know!” Breanna squealed back softly
as Mrs. Potts and Chip came and poured them some wassail into some beautiful
teacups with cherry blossoms on them and a plate of cream cakes was set in the
middle of the table. “Well, if Grumpy was here, he would be almost pleased,”
Breanna laughed as she took one. Ben gave an uncomfortable laugh, as if
remembering his very first council meeting, which he probably did. Soon after,
Mal and Ben started the meeting and said they had read the entire book and they
remembered Madam Mim played a part. And there had been three more earthquakes
since they saw the fangirls and Thaddeus had been in Auradon and unseasonal weather
all around!
“Okay, it has to be her! Maybe she’s
seeking revenge or something, I don’t know why villains are the way that they
are!” Lexi exclaimed. Mal nodded.
“I have to agree with Lexi on this
one, Ben. The last this happened, it was because of the barrier and there’s no
barrier anymore, so maybe this is some villain’s way of confusing and trying to
scare us,” she pointed out, tugging on a lock of her violet hair. Ben nodded,
seeming to understand. They spent the rest of the meeting making a list of
possible villains it could be, Madam Mim being at the top of the list.
The fangirls and their fanboy started
the little walk to the place where they always teleported from and they were
all talk about which villain they thought it was, though they were thinking the
same one. As they walked by random tree that they always passed, they saw
something amiss about it. There was a letter at the bottom of the tree trunk. Intrigued,
Thaddeus picked it up and, on the front, it said: To: The fan-brats. Rolling
his eyes, Thaddeus opened the wax seal and read it aloud.
“Dear Fan-brats,
It’s been me the whole time. The
earthquakes and the hurricanes and all of the weather phenomena. I’m going in
for the big kill next!
Yours, Audrey Rose.”
And the fangirls lost it! “Oh, this is really bad!” Bridgett
cried. Kaylee nodded, a panicked expression on her face.
“Yeah, no kidding! What are we going to do with her? I
thought her villain days were behind her!” Kaylee screamed. Gabrielle shrugged.
“Well, she was clearly faking it then!”
Thaddeus shouted above all of the noise.
“Okay! So, here’s the plan. We’re gonna go back to Mal and
Ben’s castle and show them and they’ll know what to do.” Thaddeus explained
calmly. Lexi and Breanna nodded.
“Thaddeus is right. So, we’re gonna take a deep breath and
walk to their castle.” Breanna told them before she inhaled through her nose,
and out through her mouth and encouraged the others to do the same. And then
headed in the direction of the grand royal palace.
Mal and Ben were in the royal library that was a gift to
Belle back in the day, reading fantasy novels about dragons and fairies and
unicorns, princes and princesses and knights. (So, basically Auradon history
books.) Then the fangirls and Thaddeus came bursting into the room, nearly
crashing into a shelf full of romance novels. “Lumiere said this is where we
would find you! You need to see this.” Lexi said frantically and seriously.
(Somehow.) Ben and Mal read it and when they were finished, they both had
concerned looks on their faces.
“Where did you find this?” Mal asked gravely. Thaddeus
sighed.
“At the bottom of tree on our walk. What does this mean?” he
inquired, sounding a little worried. Mal and Ben exchanged looks before Ben
spoke up.
“It means we need to track down Audrey Rose.”
