Chapter 2 of the book two rewrite!!!!!!:D:D
Chapter 2
After the summer ended, the school
year started up! Lexi was so excited to go back but also bit nervous. Some
things never change. Of course, they met up in their corner before classes.
This, of course was an ordinary thing to the rest of them, but Lexi almost cried because she missed
this so much and was so happy. She was back home again and that felt amazing. They started discussing their
schedule. “Okay, so first we have Mrs. Roberts for history,” Breanna informed
them. Lexi sighed.
“She still teaches here?” she asked,
sounding exasperated. Breanna nodded.
“Yes, she’s still just as bad. After
that, we have physics with Mrs. Zeller,” she told them.
“She’s new,” Lexi said. Bridgett
nodded.
“She’s new to us, too. Her and her son
and daughter just moved here this summer,” she explained. Lexi bobbed her head
and Thaddeus rolled his eyes.
“I’ve met her son already. He’s one
year older than me and he’s some sort of pretty boy,” Thaddeus scoffed, sounding annoyed at the very thought. Kaylee checked her watch.
“Oh, we should go.” They all stood up
and walked towards the door leading to the hallway. But as they walked down the
hallway to their class, they saw that new boy and his little sister who looked
about nine or ten. From what Lexi could tell, Thaddeus was right about one
thing. That new boy was extremely good-looking. He had bronze colored hair,
deep blue eyes, a dazzling smile, tan skin and a muscular build. At the
moment, he was comforting his sister, who was crying and they heard a few words
of what they were saying.
“It’s okay, Lizzie. You won’t be alone
and you’re going to ace these classes, I know it,” the boy whispered to the girl
comfortingly.
“But Adam, what if I don’t make any
friends?” Lizzie sobbed. The boy, Adam looked at his sister.
“Of course, you will! They’ll love
you! You’ll make friends before you know it!”
Lexi smiled at this boy's kindness, especially since that was exactly what she was afraid of when she had first arrived.
Adam held his sister’s hand as he stood up. When he did, he bumped into Lexi. “Oh, I’m sorry!” he exclaimed. Lexi blushed.
“That’s alright! What’s your name?”
Lexi asked as she tucked her bangs behind ears.
“Adam. What’s yours?”
“Alexa. But everyone calls me Lexi,”
Lexi told him, giggling a very flustered giggle. Adam smiled that sparkling smile of his.
“Well, Lexi, it’s nice to meet you,”
he said, sounding friendly. Lexi blushed again.
“It’s nice to meet you, too,” Lexi
almost swooned as they started walking towards their classroom. Adam smiled yet
again.
“Here, allow me,” he said as he opened
the door and held it for everyone. Once Adam was out of earshot, Lexi let out that swoon she had been holding back.
“Wow, he’s a dreamboat!” Lexi
exclaimed softly as Thaddeus frowned. Unfortunately, Lexi had noticed. “Thaddeus, are you alright?” she asked. Thaddeus nodded fervently to shake the
feeling away.
“Yes, I’m okay.” Thaddeus said as he
sat down. He wasn't. He could sense that this boy could cause trouble for him.
A week later, Lexi was still crushing
hard on this new boy. Adam was kind, a gentleman, a really great big brother,
and he was FINE. Lexi loved watching him in gym class. Especially when he
lifted his arms and let his muscles show! At lunch that day, Lexi decided to go
ask him for his phone number. She got up and headed to his table where about a
thousand girls were sitting and Adam looked very uncomfortable about it, but
relieved when he saw Lexi. “Hey!” he exclaimed and stood up. Lexi giggled and
motioned for him to follow her to the hallway.
“I had a question for you,” she told
him when they got there. He chuckled.
“Actually, I had a question for you,
too,” Adam said.
“You go first,” Lexi told him. Adam
chuckled again.
“Okay. I was wondering if you would
accompany me to homecoming?”
Breanna and Gabrielle came rushing to
where Thaddeus was sitting with his family at lunch.
“Thaddeus, you gotta ask that girl,
quick!” Breanna told him. Thaddeus shook his head.
“No, I can’t. She clearly has a crush
on Adam,” he replied numbly. Gabrielle nodded.
“Yes, but you can still ask her! If
she doesn’t want to go with you, she’ll say no!” She said. Breanna handed him a
bouquet she had bought that morning. Lexi’s favorites, of course.
“Go to her!” she commanded as she
shoved him toward the hallway. Thaddeus hastily walked there, trying to shove
his nerves down, when he saw something. Lexi with Adam. The two were hugging
and Lexi was saying,
“Yes! Yes, I will!” She sounded so excited and happy, and like she was going on her first date soon. Thaddeus felt like his stomach dropped into his toes as a most pained expression filled his eyes. Breanna stared from the gym, her and Gabrielle exchanging sad glances.
“Oh, no,” Breanna muttered as Gabrielle sighed. Thaddeus stalked back into the gym so one would see him staring at this seemingly perfect couple while he held flowers and looked dejected. Breanna and Gabrielle came up to him and met his depressed gaze with sympathetic ones.
"Are you okay?" Gabrielle intoned so no one else would hear them.
“Nope.” He sighed, his eyes downcast. Just then, Lexi came running
back into the gym to her friends and Thaddeus hastily hid the bunch of flowers behind his back.
“You guys! Adam Zeller just asked me
to homecoming!” she squealed. Then she noticed Thaddeus's long face. “Are you
okay, Thaddeus?” she asked, sounding concerned. Thaddeus nodded and forced a
smile.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Thaddeus told her. Then, when no one was watching him, he walked slowly to the trash can. Choking back tears, he lifted the lid and tossed the flowers in.
