Chapter 15, And their love was true

Lexi and Thaddeus’s reception was to be held at the school gym they first officially met in. I know you’re probably thinking, “Ewwwwww! The SCHOOL GYM?!?!”. Don’t worry, they all have magic and they literally transformed the place. Well, not completely, but it definitely looked beautiful. There were tables for eating on one side of the gym and a dance floor on the other side. Their wedding cake was absolutely lovely with two layers and covered in white frosting with lavender and dark green frosting flowers covering the second layer and a wooden cake topper that said L+T. The bride and groom were the last in there and everyone started applauding them. Lexi and Thaddeus both blushed tomato red as the music started. And what do you know? A swing song. Lexi giggled as she pulled Thaddeus out to the dance floor and Thaddeus lead her through the best swing dance there. As Thaddeus twirled Lexi out and back in again, they kissed, but it was short as they were moving very fast. After that, a tango started playing, so Thaddeus and Lexi tangoed the night away.

On went the reception, with everyone dancing or eating or just talking. The fangirls and Lexi’s sisters, and Thaddeus’s sister, Hailey had made the playlist for the wedding reception and lovingly nicknamed “I love you, fangirl” as Thaddeus often said that to her. After Lexi and Thaddeus were done with yet another dance, they went to get some food. They were both starving! “Man, this is really tiring!” Lexi exclaimed softly. Thaddeus nodded as he loaded his plate with mashed potatoes. 

“Yeah! I’m starving!” he said back. Lexi giggled and kissed his cheek. Thaddeus grinned. “I’m so glad you’re my wife,”. Lexi beamed.

“I’m glad you’re my husband,” Lexi replied. “It feels wonderful just saying it!” Thaddeus was still grinning as he ate a forkful of potatoes. Just then, Thaddeus both noticed something.

“Woah, do you see that?” he asked Lexi and pointed at the dance floor where Breanna was dancing with their old schoolmate, Henry.

“Stop it right now!” Lexi exclaimed. Thaddeus nodded.

“Well, we’re going to pelt her with questions later,” Thaddeus said as he pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose with the tip of his finger. As the song ended, Breanna and Henry kissed! “Dang! Breanna knows exactly what she’s doing!” Thaddeus said in approval. Lexi nodded in agreement.

“I definitely ship that,” Lexi agreed. “Let’s go talk to her,”. Lexi took Thaddeus’s hand and they stalked to where Breanna was. 

“Hey! Congratulations, you guys!” Henry congratulated them in a friendly tone. Lexi nodded and smiled.

“Thanks, Henry! May we talk to Breanna for a second?” Lexi asked. Henry nodded and headed toward to food table. “When did you two become a thing?” Lexi inquired and Thaddeus nodded in agreement.

“A couple of weeks ago and we dated in high school,” Breanna explained to them.

“Huh! Well, you guys are so cute,” Thaddeus told her. Breanna blushed.

“Thanks,” she said awkwardly. Lexi and Thaddeus saw Henry approaching them.

“Well, I think we’ll leave you two lovebirds alone,” Thaddeus smirked, echoing what Breanna had once to them. Then Thaddeus took Lexi’s hand and they both left Breanna to her boy. Later, Lexi and Thaddeus were sitting together in a quiet corner so they could possibly escape from all of the people who were trying to talk to them, when Thaddeus heard a familiar tune. It was their song. “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Thaddeus turned to Lexi with a meaningful look on his face.

“May have this dance, my darling?” Thaddeus asked softly, offering his hand to Lexi. Lexi smiled brightly at him and took his hand.

“You know I’ve actually forgotten how to waltz,” Lexi admitted. Thaddeus swept her into his arms with one, easy motion, and sang to her,

“Follow my lead,” right as it said that in the song. Lexi giggled.

“I’ve never really told anyone but my sisters this, but sometimes, when I see you, I get a little weak in the knees,” Lexi told him. Thaddeus twirled her around and dipped her as the first verse faded into the chorus.     

“Well, I’m glad I’m not only one who feels like that,” he said slowly and romantically. As he brought Lexi back up, Lexi kissed Thaddeus because she just loved him so much and that put Thaddeus into an even better mood. On they waltzed throughout the chorus and right as it was ending, Thaddeus whispered in Lexi’s ear.

“Hey, fangirl, can I tell you a secret?” Lexi nodded.

“Yeah, of course,” Lexi said happily. Then Thaddeus started singing along to the song.

“But you heard it, darling you look perfect tonight,” Thaddeus whispered. And then he kissed her forehead. “Even, though that’s not a secret. Anyone here who has proper taste would think the same,” Lexi giggled.

“Are you sure you’re not fictional?” Lexi joked.

“Well, my sister is a fangirl and she taught me everything I know,” Thaddeus told her.

“Then I guess I got lucky,” Lexi replied.

“No, I got lucky,” Thaddeus whispered to her before he kissed her. “I love you, fangirl,”.

Soon, it was time for some of the main events of the reception. First, Lexi danced with her dad, then Thaddeus and her played a game. It’s a whole bunch of questions about how it worked in their relationship and they were back-to-back in a couple of chairs when they would hold up either ones shoes as an answer to a question. Then, a wedding reception classic, Lexi tossed her bouquet and Breanna was the one who caught it. Then, the very last thing. Thaddeus and Lexi cut into their cake and shoved it into each other’s faces. Then, at last, they changed into some different clothes and ran out to their car, which had been decorated by Lexi’s sisters and Thaddeus’s sisters and cousin, and drove off to their honeymoon. :D
