Chapter 7 of Fangirls, book three!!!!! :D
Chapter 7, The apology
Lexi woke up in her dorm room to the
sun coming in through her window. She realized she had cried herself to sleep
without getting ready for bed. She vaguely remembered her friends knocking on
her door but she’d ignored them. She wasn’t quite ready to talk about it. She
headed down the hallway and to the bathroom. She looked at her reflection. Her
hair was a rat’s nest, there were mascara stains around her eyes. She cleaned
off her face and brushed her hair and then she cleaned her teeth. Then she
walked back to her room and changed into some new clothes, a pink and grey
sweater and jeans. When she came out of her room, the others were out there
having breakfast and they all immediately turned to her. “Good morning,
sunshine,” Breanna greeted, somewhat jokingly. Lexi let out a weak chuckle.
“Good morning, Breanna,” she replied.
“Are you okay?” Breanna asked,
dropping her joking act.
“I’m better than last night,” Lexi
informed them.
“What happened?” Kaylee asked as she
buttered her toast. Breanna shot her a look.
“It’s fine, Breanna. Um, Thaddeus and
I got into a fight about wedding location,” Lexi explained, sighing.
“Oh, that sucks,” Bridgett sighed. She
was about to ask about it when there was a knock at the door. Lexi got up to
answer it. Thaddeus was standing in the doorway. Lexi’s pupils dilated at the
sight of him.
“Oh, hi,” Thaddeus said awkwardly.
“Hey, oh, um, come on in,” Lexi
replied just as awkwardly. All of the girls stood up.
“I think we’ll leave you two lovebirds
alone,” Breanna said as she started walking out and the other girls followed
her to her room. Lexi sat down on the couch and patted the seat next to her and
Thaddeus sat down next to her.
“I wanted to talk to you about last
night,” Thaddeus told her as he bit his lip.
“I figured,” Lexi said.
“I thought a lot about it and I’m so,
so, sorry for treating you the way that I did and for yelling at you.” Thaddeus
said respectfully. “Will you forgive me?” Lexi smiled a little bit. She wasn’t
sure she was ready to forgive him, but, as always, she melted under his gaze.
She nodded. “It doesn’t matter to me where we get married, as long as I’m right
there with you,” he said sweetly as he took her hands in both of his and
kissed her forehead. Lexi smiled at Thaddeus. A smile that was so happy,
Thaddeus felt his muscles go limp.
“We really don’t have to get married
ther-” Lexi began. Thaddeus shook his head.
“Stop. This is the day you’ve been
dreaming of since you were thirteen. If that’s your dream, let’s follow it to
the ends of the earth,” Thaddeus said, his eyes trained on hers. Lexi shed a
few tears of joy and leaned out and kissed him.
“Yeah!!” the fangirls cheered in
unison. Lexi and Thaddeus started outright laughing as Thaddeus slung an arm
around Lexi’s shoulders and pulled her closer.
“I love you, Fangirl,” Thaddeus
whispered.
“I love you, too, my Prince,” Lexi
whispered back as she nestled into his arms.
Later, the fangirls and Thaddeus
played a rousing game of Go Fish, (It was Saturday, so they were off school)
all of their phones went off. They all exchanged very dark looks as Kaylee
picked up her phone and looked at the message that was from Mal. Kaylee gasped.
“What? Oh, no, please don’t tell me
Ben just got captured again,” Breanna groaned. Kaylee read everyone the
message. It was short, but it was chilling to the bone.
“Bad news here. Mad Maddy has escaped
the Isle of the Doomed”
