Chapter 6 of Fangirls, book three!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D
Chapter 6, Questions and Answers
“So, Mad Maddy had her?” Bridgett
asked as she sat down on the couch. Mal nodded. They were all on a video chat
so they could discuss this funny business. Thaddeus shook his head.
“The question is how she did it,”
Everyone thought about it. Was it a breach in the barrier? Did she somehow
manage to hack the system of no technology and contact someone? No one knew. No
one could think of anything.
“Was she framed?” Breanna asked.
“Perhaps,” Ben sighed.
A month later, Christmas was coming
soon and Lexi and Thaddeus were planning the wedding. They were starting to
disagree on things, though. They decided they would go someplace where they had
food and drink so they wouldn’t get hangrey and go to “Steve and Billy’s
Wassail House” (it was at its best during Christmas time when people wanted
something warm to drink) that was run by an elderly woman everyone called Ms.
Hardee. Lexi took her car and Thaddeus took his car and they met up at the
wassail house. Thaddeus walked in and asked for a table for two. Thaddeus
texted Lexi that he had a table so that she knew what to do when she arrived. A
few moments later, Lexi arrived and found him. They both ordered the house
special, which was of course, wassail and a couple of snickerdoodles. Thaddeus
sighed in relief.
“It’s nice to get away from this
wedding planning,” Thaddeus said. Lexi nodded in agreement.
“Being engaged kind of sucks, doesn’t
it?” Lexi sighed. Thaddeus chuckled.
“Yeah! This is not at all what people
have cracked it up to be,” Thaddeus said, shaking his head. Then, a thought
came to light in Lexi’s mind as she took a bite of her snickerdoodle.
“You know, the other day I was
thinking. Since we had our first kiss in Auradon, maybe we could get married
there,” Lexi suggested. Thaddeus chuckled.
“So, you’re saying we should get
married in a hospital?” Thaddeus teased. Lexi giggled a little.
“No, I was just thinking we get
married someplace in Auradon that was beautiful and romantic,” Lexi explained.
Thaddeus sighed. It was always Descendants with Lexi, wasn’t it?
“Why do you want to have the wedding
there?” Thaddeus asked, sounding somewhat annoyed.
“I just thought since we have so many
memories including the fact that we became a couple there and you proposed
there, I thought it would be romantic,” Lexi explained to him patiently,
starting lean back in her chair as she started to lose confidence.
“What if I don’t want everything in
our lives to be about Auradon?” Thaddeus said, his voice getting slightly
louder than normal. Lexi raised one eyebrow.
“We don’t have to do that, Thaddeus,
calm down,” Lexi said, starting to lose her patience with him. “I just thought
it would be nice,”
“But you deeply want to get married
there because it’s Auradon?” Thaddeus asked, his voice starting to get icy.
Lexi’s eyebrows shot up.
“What is up with you?” Lexi asked,
starting to get mad as well.
“It’s always Descendants with you,
isn’t it?” Thaddeus yelled.
“That’s not why I want to get married
there! I just thought it would make sense if we did!” Lexi shouted back.
“What if I don’t want to get married
there?” Thaddeus said angerly.
“Then we don’t have to!” Lexi
exclaimed, her face burning with anger. Lexi felt tears come to her eyes so she
turned around and ran out of the door, leaving Thaddeus at the table. Thaddeus
raked his hands through his dark brown hair then slid his hands underneath his
glasses as he put his elbows on the table. He sighed. He wished he could just
skip the whole engagement and fights and just get married without having to
choose a location or a theme and getting into fights about that. He hated
fighting with her. They didn’t often fight, but it was always unpleasant. They
had never fought quite like this, though. He was still angry, but he already
felt terrible for yelling at her.
Meanwhile, Lexi made to her car before
tears started pouring down her cheeks. She felt angry, guilty, and out of sorts
all at once and her head was reeling. She couldn’t stand fighting with him.
Especially as bad as that. She started down the road and back to the college
campus and all she could think about was that fight. She didn’t know what to
do. She just wanted to go back to her dorm room and collapse on her bed and
stay there for several hours. She was brought back to her senses when she
almost got hit by a car because she hadn’t stopped at the light. She slammed on
the brake and realized she had to put herself together long enough to get back
to her apartment so she gritted her teeth and made it back. She walked through
the door of their apartment and almost collapsed on the floor. Bridgett saw her
walk in the door and immediately noticed Lexi’s blotched and tear-stained face.
“Lexi, are you okay?” Lexi ignored her and just walked to her room without
another word. She fell into her room and fell onto her bed and started sobbing
again.
“Did you guys see that?” Bridgett
asked. Kaylee and Breanna nodded.
“What happened?” Kaylee asked.
“They probably got into a fight,”
Breanna replied.
“What should we do?” Bridgett asked.
“You two go see her. I’ll call
Thaddeus,” Breanna commanded. They both nodded and stalked to Lexi’s room.
Meanwhile, Breanna dialed Thaddeus’s phone number and waited for him to answer.
She decided to call him on video chat. It took a while, but he answered.
“Hello?” Thaddeus said as his face appeared
on the screen. He looked a little distressed.
“Hey, I just had a quick question. Um,
what happened at Steve and Billy’s?”
“Why?” Thaddeus asked, his voice
sounding a little more panicked than usual. Breanna bit her lip.
“Because Lexi just came back and her
face was all blotched and red and tear-stained and she ignored us when we asked
her if she was okay,” Breanna explained. Thaddeus gasped.
“Oh, no! I hate myself right now!” He
exclaimed quietly.
“Okay, what happened?” Breanna asked
as she brushed her hair out of her eyes. Thaddeus took a deep breath and
explained their fight. “Um, Thaddeus, I’m not sure that that was the best
idea,” Breanna told him.
“I know, I feel terrible!” Thaddeus
exclaimed. “When do I apologize?”
“I’d leave her alone for tonight and
talk tomorrow morning,” Breanna suggested.
“Okay, thanks,” Thaddeus said. Breanna
nodded.
“You’re welcome,” she said and hung
up.
