Prologue

Once upon a September 9, 2028, Thaddeus’s family came to Ireland to see Ireland and to fly home with him. After being released from his duties from the service trip, Thaddeus and his family flew back to New Mexico. Lexi was beyond excited to see Thaddeus again and Thaddeus was excited to see Lexi again as well. Lexi and her family had come to the Airport to see him come back. Lexi had graduated high school by now and she was going to a college in New Mexico that was about an hour away from home. Meanwhile, Lexi was standing in the airport, looking over people’s heads for Thaddeus. She knew his flight had just got in and she was getting impatient. But then her mom tapped her on the shoulder. “Lexi, look!” she exclaimed softly. Lexi turned around and saw Thaddeus, coming forward with his family and someone Lexi did not know, looking all around the airport, probably for Lexi. Lexi’s face broke into an excited grin as she ran toward Thaddeus.

“Thaddeus!” she exclaimed excitedly as she ran toward him. As Thaddeus saw her and heard her, his face broke into a big smile.

“Lexi!” he exclaimed and started to run toward her too. Lexi finally ran up to him and he caught her in a strong embrace and wrapped her in his arms and they kissed. They guy that Lexi didn’t know spoke up.

“Hey look! Hawthorne’s got a girlfriend!” he exclaimed in mock surprise. Lexi turned and looked at the strange man.

“I’m sorry, what? Who are you?” Lexi asked, wiping away the tears of joy she had started weeping. Thaddeus explained.

“Oh, that’s my last companion from the trip. He’s from New Mexico too and him and I were going home at the same time so we just went on the same flight,” Thaddeus explained. Lexi nodded.

“Oh, well it’s nice to meet you! I’m Lexi!” she greeted. Thaddeus’s companion nodded.

“I know who you are. I’m Thomas,” he said as he shook her hand. Lexi turned around to Thaddeus again.

“He knows me?” Lexi asked. Thaddeus blushed a little bit.

“Yes, I mentioned you,” Thaddeus explained. Lexi blushed as well.

“More like he talked about you constantly when we weren’t out serving!” Thomas interjected. Lexi started laughing.

“Oh, I missed you so much,” she said to Thaddeus. Thaddeus smiled at Lexi and kissed her forehead.

“I missed you too fangirl,” he said and together, they walked hand in hand out of the airport and drove Thaddeus and his family back to their house.

  The “Love is an Open Door” scene ☹😊 I jump at the sound of the doorbell. I’ve been sitting on pins and needles for thirty minutes after I got ready, waiting for Adam to come and pick me up for the homecoming dance. I was wearing a deep sapphire blue dress, one of the school colors. Adam would be wearing a red tie, our other school color.
