Chapter 10 of Fangirls, book two!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

Chapter 10 Rescue time!

They were on their way to who knows where to rescue Ben. They were all running, except for Mal, who was pregnant, and Lexi, who literally couldn’t even walk, let alone run. She could only limp. She had one arm slung along Thaddeus’s shoulders and she was hopping on one foot. They checked the old bunker that Thaddeus took refuge in during his villain times, but he wasn’t there. “Worth a shot,” Thaddeus sighed. Then, Mal had a thought.

“Wait, what about the catacombs?” she suggested. Lexi’s hazel eyes widened.

“The catacombs of doom?” she asked. Mal sighed.

“No, those other catacombs we talk about. Yes, the catacombs of doom!” she exclaimed. Lexi backed away in her own small way, since she was injured. Mal sighed again. “Okay, I’m sorry.” she said to Lexi. Lexi nodded. Soon, they headed off to the catacombs.

Meanwhile, Mad Maddy was keeping Ben hostage. “Mad Maddy, what are you doing?” he asked. Mad Maddy cackled as she so often did.

“Getting revenge on you and your wife! What does it look like I’m doing?” she exclaimed to the sky. Or rather, the ceiling of the catacombs. Ben raised his eyebrows and confusion.

“But, why?” he asked. Mad Maddy huffed.

“Dear goodness, don’t you know? You’re just as stupid as your wife,” Ben raised his eyebrows again.

“Excuse me? I’m just going to warn you that I will get out of this and I can execute you for treason!” Ben yelled. Mad Maddy scoffed.

“Please, no one is going find this place! Evil will triumph!” she exclaimed. Ben shook his head. “No, good always triumphs and you know it!” Ben exclaimed. Mad Maddy rolled her eyes.

“Oh, my gosh! You’re such a goody-goody! What were you raised on? Fairytales?” Ben just shook his head and sighed. I wished that Mal knew where he was so that she wouldn’t worry about him.

"We're literally living in one," Ben said softly.

"Maybe you are," Mad Maddy said jealously. Ben started to say something, but chose not to.

“So, Mal’s dreams were right on the nose?” he asked. Mad Maddy smiled evilly again.

“Yep! I was the one sending them!” she said proudly. Ben glared at her.

“You were the one making her feel terrified?” he said, his tone getting angrier. Mad Maddy nodded, still smiling. “We trusted you and we forgave you! What is wrong with you?” he exclaimed. Mad Maddy suddenly turned angry.

“Did she? She wasn’t sincere at all when she apologized!” she exclaimed hotly.

“She was sincere and she welcomed you into Auradon despite everything you did to her! And she apologized to you!” Ben exclaimed. Just then everyone came hurrying in and Ben sighed in relief. Mad Maddy smiled.

“Well, well, well! Look who it is! The turncoats and the fanbrats!” she squealed with great glee. Breanna gasped and her green eyes widened.

“She wrote the note.” she muttered in a low tone. Kaylee nodded and put her arm around her friend. Then Mad Maddy noticed Thaddeus and Lexi, and Lexi had an arm around Thaddeus, because that’s how they were walking.

“Aww, look at those two! Finally manage to sweep her off her feet, Thaddeus?” Thaddeus gasped and Lexi’s eyes widened too.

“What are you talking about?” Thaddeus said, trying to keep his voice innocent and calm.

“You think I wasn’t Yen Sid in disguise at the hospital to frame Hadie and in Camelot to frame Yen Sid? How stupid do you think I am?” Ben chuckled.

“Evidently, pretty stupid,” Ben said, because Jay had untied him while Mad Maddy wasn’t looking. Mad Maddy snarled in anger.

“What do you think you’re doing out the rope?!” she growled at Ben. Ben smiled.

“ What I should be doing. Mad Maddy, you are under arrest for treason to the crown!” he exclaimed. Mal nodded.

“The game’s over, Maddy.” Mal cried. Mad Maddy cackled. (I know! She does that all the time!)

“Oh, it’s only just begun,” she said menacingly as she turned into a massive dragon. Mal glared and followed suit in the dragon thing. Even though the fangirl’s obsession with Descendants had gone down since they were older, they were still fangirling over the fact that Mal turned into a dragon right in front of their very eyes! Even Thaddeus was getting excited about it.

“Go Mal, go!!” they fangirls cheered in unison. They watched as Mal was blowing fire ball after fire ball toward Mad Maddy. But then Mad Maddy flew behind Mal and as Mal was looking for her, Mad Maddy shot a fire at Mal’s right wing and she was shot down, unconscious. She turned back into a human once she hit the ground. And Ben lost his mind. Once Mad Maddy hit the ground, she turned back into a human too. But she wasn’t unconscious. Jay ran over to her and hit her over the head with a frying pan he brought. Rapunzel and Eugene, who he met the other week, recommended it as a combat tool. Ben ran over to Mal.

“Oh, my gosh Mal! Please be okay!” he cried as he scooped up the unconscious Mal and they all ran to the hospital. They rushed into urgent care and ran over to the receptionist. “Help us! Mal got blasted in the arm with a fire ball!” Ben exclaimed. The receptionist reacted immediately.

“Okay, your Majesty calm down. I’ll page the doctor,” she said kindly. Then she paged the doctor and Ben took Mal back. The VKs, the fangirls and Thaddeus, were to wait in the lobby. Once the fear and drama ended, Lexi thought it was a good time to talk to Thaddeus about something.

“Hey Thaddeus?” she asked, tapping him on the shoulder. Thaddeus turned to her and smiled

“Yes?” he asked.

“Mad Maddy said something about you sweeping me off my feet?” she said questioningly. Thaddeus raised his eyebrows, but on the inside, he was filling with fear.

“She meant how we were walking.” he lied. He absolutely HATED lying to her, but he had no choice. Lexi nodded, but she didn’t really believe this story. But she didn’t want to cause more drama. “So, how are things going with Adam?” Thaddeus asked. Lexi frowned.

“Fine.” Lexi sighed. Thaddeus looked at her in concern.

“What’s wrong?” Thaddeus asked. Lexi tried to look fine, but failed miserably.

“Oh, I’m fine.” she lied. Thaddeus let out a disbelieving chuckle and elbowed Lexi in the shoulder.

“I know you better than that, Lexi. And, you’re really bad at lying,” Thaddeus told her. Lexi raised her eyebrows.

“I am not,” Lexi argued. Thaddeus nodded and chuckled again.

“Yeah, you are. And I haven’t seen that beautiful smile of yours in a long time.” Thaddeus said, instantly regretting the word, ‘beautiful’. I hate myself, I hate myself, I want to die, I hate myself! Thaddeus thought angerly. Lexi flushed bright red, but sighed and gave up her little “I’m fine” act.

“Just he disappears all the time! Like, he has excuses every time I ask if he wants to hang out,” Lexi explained frustratedly.

Thaddeus raised his eyebrows. I knew there was something rotten about that guy, the little rat. He has no right to date someone as sweet as Lexi, Thaddeus thought.

“Maybe you should break up with him, if he’s being that rude,” Thaddeus suggested. Lexi shook her head.

“Maybe after homecoming,” Lexi said. Thaddeus nodded, looking a little bit disappointed, but trying not to let it show.

About fifteen minutes later, (Wow they work quick!) Ben came back to the lobby. He looked relieved. “She’s okay. She does have a third degree burn on her right arm, but she’ll be aright,” he explained. They all sighed in relief, especially Evie and Jay.

Later, Lexi got home, (Thaddeus had held her during the portal ride and helped her through her front door.) and her mom immediately asked her why she was limping. Hours after being in the emergency room, Lexi and her mom found out that Lexi broke her right ankle. Lexi explained what happened in Auradon. How they defeated Mad Maddy, and now that they wouldn’t be going to Auradon every Wednesday after school anymore. Mom sighed. “At last,” she sighed. Lexi raised her eyebrows.

“What do you mean?” she asked. Mom smiled.

“Well, I missed you,” she said, kissing her cheek. Lexi smiled and hugged her mom. Then something caught Lexi’s memory.

“Mom, I think Thaddeus has a crush on me,” she said. Mom nodded.

“I've known that for months,” she replied.  “How are things with Adam?” she asked, stroking her hair. Lexi shrugged.

“Fine.” she sighed. Mom raised her eyebrows.

“Just fine?” she asked. Lexi sighed and explained again what she had explained to Thaddeus back in Auradon. Lexi's mom gasped.

“What?” Lexi asked concernedly.

“He sounds like he’s lying to you,” her mom explained. Lexi shook her head.

“No, he wouldn’t. He’s a gentleman.” she said.  But, as the words came out of her mouth, she wondered if they were actually true.
