Chapter 5 of Fangirls, book two!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

 

Chapter 5, A royal threat

As the fangirls and Thaddeus walked out of the castle, the girls were talking about what could be going down in Auradon right at this very moment. Thaddeus was okay from his little panic about the lightning strike. “Do you think it's Mad Maddy or Madam Mim who’s attacking everything?” Bridgett asked the others. Lexi shrugged. 

“I don’t know. Maybe we should study the second book?” Lexi suggested. Thaddeus nodded. 

“That’s a great idea!” Thaddeus said. Lexi beamed at her idea being a good one. The others walked ahead leaving Lexi to Thaddeus. Thaddeus could swear Breanna and Gabrielle did that on purpose by the look they gave him as they walked ahead. And he loved them for it. “So, how are things with Adam going?” Thaddeus asked, somewhat awkwardly. 

“Good. Though the other day, he forgot to hold the door for me when we were going in the gym. I’m going to have to talk to him about that.” Lexi said, shrugging. Thaddeus groaned softly and buried his face in his palms as Lexi went ahead to where the others were. He would hold the door for Lexi and hold her hand like any good fella would for a girl like Lexi. But he would shut his mouth and respect the fact that Lexi likes someone else, even though he wanted to punch Adam in his stupid handsome face and knock out his perfect teeth. But he wouldn’t.

 

The next week at school, the six friends all brought their Return to the Isle of the Lost books and they were studying it until they all had to go to class and then Adam showed up. He came up to them and said hello and kissed Lexi on the forehead. That made Thaddeus want to puke and that made him sad at the same time. He wanted to do that. Plus, it made him mad. He had no right to even touch her and he half wanted to scream at Adam, “Get your hands off of her right now, and please never touch her again!” But he didn’t and held his tongue. So, after Adam left to go to his own class, the girls and Thaddeus all walked to class together. After school, they went to Auradon and brought their books with them. Then everyone went to Mal and Ben’s castle and went to their living room. They were served wassail. Mal must have been having weird cravings but no one complained. It was so good! Mal and Ben started the meeting and there had been three more earthquakes and a hurricane! 

“Okay this has to be Madam Mim again!” Lexi exclaimed. Ben shrugged.

“Maybe, but this could just be some crazy spike in tectonic activity,” Ben said. Lexi eyes widened.

“And that lightning striking right next to you and Mal was just luck?” Lexi asked sarcastically. Thaddeus shuddered; the lightning was still haunting him. But he pulled it together. 

“I have to side with Lexi on this one, Ben,” Mal said. “I mean the last time that this happened it was the barrier. We don’t have a barrier anymore and Madam Mim could be doing this to throw us off the scent,” Once again, Mal thought of the dream she had about Mad Maddy. But that was a dream and it wasn’t real. 

“Or it could be Mad Maddy,” Thaddeus suggested. Mal sighed. She didn’t want to think about it being Mad Maddy. That was really scary to her for some reason. She didn’t really know why she wasn’t over the dream, but it made her uneasy. She didn’t want to lose anything or anyone she loved. Soon, the meeting ended and they agreed that Madam Mim is a prime suspect. So, the fangirls and Thaddeus were walking down to the river that they usually created the portal at. They passed a tree that they usually walk past and there was a letter in an envelope that read, 

“To: The fan-brats”. Scoffing and thinking that villains are terrible at punning, Thaddeus picked it up and read it. It said, “Dear fan-brats, It has been me the entire time. The earthquakes and the hurricanes and all the weather phenomenon’s. I’m coming after the big kill next. Yours, Audrey Rose.” Thaddeus gasped and gapped at the letter and then handed it to Lexi and Lexi read it aloud. All the girls went into a state of panic and weirdly, excitement at finding out who it is. 

“We have to go back to Mal and Ben’s castle and tell them!” Breanna exclaimed and they all started running back to the castle.  

Mal and Ben were sitting in the library and reading, when the fangirls and Thaddeus burst in on them. “We have big news!” Kaylee cried and handed them the letter. Mal and Ben looked at it and gasped. 

“So?” Bridgett asked. “What does it mean?” Ben and Mal exchanged dark looks with each other and Ben sighed. “It means we need to track down Audrey Rose,”
