Chapter 15 The wedding

The day after the battle, Thaddeus was released from the hospital and they were going to have a wedding. Evie started making dresses for the girls. Lexi’s was lavender, Breanna’s was blue, Kaylee’s was green, Bridgett’s was yellow, and Gabrielle’s was pink. Think Audrey’s dress at Mal and Ben’s engagement party. And the day of the wedding, Dizzy had her hands full with doing everyone’s hair.

Bridgett and Gabrielle even stepped in with hair spells. And the night before, they all had a sleep over in one of the wings in the castle! But, not the west wing of course. Where the wedding was going to be held was a complete mystery to the fangirls because Mal wanted it to be a surprise. As soon as the clock struck seven AM, the fangirls were up and at ‘em because they were so excited. “Why are you guys so excited?” Mal asked them as she was getting her hair done. Gabrielle scoffed.

“It’s not as though we’ve waited one whole year for this,” she said sarcastically. Lexi shook her head.

“I’ve waited for three years,” Lexi said matter-of-factly. Dizzy’s eyes winded.

“You’ve waited for three years?! I’ve only waited one! You must have been patient!” she said to Lexi.     “I mean, what kind of torture is that?” she asked.

“Lexi hasn’t been that patient,” Breanna said jokingly. Lexi stuck her tongue out at Breanna, but she was laughing. The fangirl’s hair was curled and some of it was pinned back and it looked radiant. Lexi has strawberry blonde hair, Breanna has light brown hair, Kaylee has a light caramel colored hair, Bridgett has light blonde hair, and Gabrielle has dark blonde hair. Mal’s hair was an elegant bun with curtain bangs out curled lightly. Mal’s dress was the real winner here. The top of it was white and it had cap sleaves that had tiny lavender gems on it so it shimmered in the light. The skirt was white and poufy, but not too poufy with a layer of purple tool. Evie did amaze on that dress. Soon, it was time to go to the location for the wedding. Lexi was surprised when they didn’t go to the great hall across from the castle, but way excited when they got to the beautiful bridge that separated Auradon and the Isle. The fangirls started squealing for the millionth time since they’ve been in Auradon. “That’s where you’re having the wedding?!” Kaylee squealed. Mal nodded, laughing at the fangirl’s obsessing over the wedding location. Soon, they saw Ben coming, looking handsome in his blue wedding suit.

“He looks handsome in everything,” Lexi whispered to Gabrielle. Gabrielle giggled and nodded, eying Ben. Soon, the wedding guests started arriving and getting seated by an usher. Lexi soon saw Audrey arrive. 

“Hey Benny boo!” she greeted. She just called him “Benny boo” now as an ongoing joke. Ben laughed and rolled his eyes, but Lexi almost threw up in her mouth. 

“Audrey, don’t repeat that! It makes people in a five-mile radius want to vomit,” Lexi said. Audrey looked confused and a little angry.

“Um, who is little miss sassy pants over there?” she asked Ben.

“That is Lexi. She just helped us save the kingdom. And so did they of course” he said, pointing to her friends. “Lexi don’t say that. That’s mean,” Ben whispered.

 

“I’m sorry Audrey, I just always wanted to say that,” Lexi said to Audrey. Audrey shrugged.

“Eh, it’s okay. I thought it was kind of funny,” she said as she walked away. Soon, they also saw Jane walking up in a blue sleeveless dress. 

“Ooh, I love your dress,” Lexi said. Jane smiled.

“Thank you! Who are you?” she asked. Lexi smiled this time.

“I’m Lexi, and this is Breanna, Kaylee, Bridgett, and Gabrielle,” she said.

“Nice to meet you!” she said brightly. “Are you on the guest list?” she asked.

Ben stepped over to them. “They were a last-minute invite, Jane,” he explained. “They just helped us save Auradon,” Jane smiled and nodded as she walked away. The last person they saw was not Auradonion.

“Hey Thaddeus!” Lexi said brightly. Thaddeus smiled his hello as they walked to their seats. Then, the wedding started. First, Dizzy and Celia walked down the aisle (And I mean from the actual Isle of the lost starting from Mal’s old home, the Bargain castle) throwing rose petals, and black dahlia petals, and purple snap dragon petals down the red carpet. and then the bridesmaids which consisted of Jane in the front, then Audrey, then Lonnie, then Uma, and then Evie as the maid of honor (obviously.) and the groom’s men which were Jay, Doug, Harry and Gil. (Doug had just cut his hair, thankfully!) And then the bride and her father. Mal was smiling more than Ben had ever seen her smile, and Hades was actually looking happy for some reason. Ben had never seen him smile at him before. Ben couldn’t even wipe the smile off his own face as Hades lend Mal down the “Isle” and to the alter. To him. Fairy Godmother married them. 

“Dearly beloved, we gather here today in holy matrimony of Lady Mal and King Benjamin,” Fairy Godmother said with a big, sparkling smile. “The wedding that we’ve all been so excited to witness,” she gave an even bigger smile and called over the ring bearer, which happened to none other than Thaddeus. Ben grabbed Mal’s ring, which was silver with a purple heart gem stone. 

“Mal Bertha, my beautiful lady, with this ring I pledge my life and my heart to you. I promise to always protect you from anything and everything. From the moment you came to Auradon, you captured my heart and you still do. Did I mention that I’m in love with you?” he said as he slipped the ring on her finger. Mal smiled and blushed. Mal took Ben’s ring off the satin pillow. His ring was a golden spiral like his heart. (Minus the spiral bit). 

“Benjamin Florian, my sweet, handsome, courageous king, with this ring I pledge my love to you. I promise to love you and only you for the rest of my life. You are my life and very being. Did I mention that I love you too?” she said as she slipped the ring his finger. Fairy Godmother was shedding tears at this point. Not to mention Evie, who was a water bucket. 

“Do you, king Benjamin, take Lady Mal to be your wife for all time and eternity, to love and keep safe?” Fairy Godmother asked. Ben nodded.

“I do,” he said in gentle tone. Fairy Godmother smiled again and shed another a tear.

“Do you, Lady Mal, take Ben to be your husband for all time and eternity, to love and keep safe?” she asked. Mal nodded.

“I do,” she said, smiling.

“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. And King and Queen. You may now kiss the bride!” she exclaimed happily. Mal and Ben kissed. And then everyone jumped up and cheered. None more than the fangirls. They were squealing and jumping up and down more than ever before. And Lexi was sobbing and squealing at the same time. Mal and Ben started laughing once they looked back. 

“Oh my gosh,” Ben said. 

Mal nodded and smiled, “What a bunch of fangirls.”
