Chapter 5 Things get strange

The next week, at school Thaddeus entered without a word and headed straight for the gym. He went over to where Lexi and her friends were sitting. As soon Lexi saw him, she immediately wrapped her arms around him. “Hey Thaddeus! I’m so sorry about your parents!” She exclaimed, but Thaddeus ignored her. 

“Come with me,” Lexi raised her eyebrows.

“What? Excuse me?” she asked. Thaddeus looked annoyed.

“Come help me get revenge!” He exclaimed. At that point, Lexi looked so concerned. And confused.

“Um, I don’t know about that. And I think that what happened to your parents was an accident,”

“Come and help me get revenge!!” He exclaimed again, his patience wearing thin. Lexi shook her head. 

“No. But I’m so sorry for your loss,” she said, turning away from him and back to her friends. Thaddeus huffed and walked away, muttering to himself. As he walked away, he was thinking that maybe Lexi was just pretending to be his friend all along. “Oh, but she was,”  

said a voice he didn’t recognize. “What?” he asked “Who said that?” Just then, Hades jumped right in front of Thaddeus. “What the?!” Thaddeus exclaimed before Hades covered his mouth and dragged him into a bathroom stall. 

“You can trust me. I’m here to help you,” he said.

“Do you want to know who killed your parents?” He asked. Thaddeus nodded fervently. He pulled up

a glowing orb that held a memory. It showed him Lexi, dragging a wrecked car behind her. That held his parents. Thaddeus looked so hurt and surprised, and he shed a tear. “So, she was pretending to my friend because she was just biding her time to kill them,”. Hades nodded.

“Precisely. Do you want to how to get revenge?” Hades asked him. Thaddeus nodded desperately.

“Go after the one thing her and silly little fangirls care about. Auradon.” He spoke in such a way that Thaddeus had to listen. But he was confused.

“Auradon is a real place?” Thaddeus asked. Hades nodded as though Thaddeus was stupid.

“Of course, It’s a real place!” He said, angerly. Thaddeus lowered his eyebrows a little.

“Okay, okay I’m sorry,” he said apologetically. Hades started telling how he would help him destroy Auradon and how they would do it and when they would do it. Thaddeus nodded again. “Sound great!!” He exclaimed.

“Great! I’ll see you then, partner in crime,” he said. But then as Thaddeus was walking out, Hades stopped him. “Wait, one more thing, do you want to know how to really hurt her soul?” he asked.

“Yes,” Thaddeus said softly. Hades whispered something in his ear. Thaddeus got a wicked grin on his face. Their plan was so despicable, that they just knew it would work. Get ready, things are about to get real. The thing that Hades told Thaddeus to do would crush Lexi so hard. Hades told Thaddeus to go after the King of Auradon and kill him.

  The “Love is an Open Door” scene ☹😊 I jump at the sound of the doorbell. I’ve been sitting on pins and needles for thirty minutes after I got ready, waiting for Adam to come and pick me up for the homecoming dance. I was wearing a deep sapphire blue dress, one of the school colors. Adam would be wearing a red tie, our other school color. All of the rest of my friends are just going solo, even Thaddeus, which confused me.
