Sorry, I accidently published chapter three before chapter two

 

Chapter Three, Grin and bear it

“Oh, it was such a beautiful dream” Lexi thought as she made lunch for school on that

That chilly October morning. “Until my alarm clock came in and ruined it!”

And it was a beautiful dream. The most beautiful dream any Descendants fangirl could imagine.

Lexi dreamt that she was in a dim hallway and all the curtains were closed. And there was a red carpet.

Except the carpet was purple. Then, she saw Mal and Ben walking down that hallway, holding hands.

So naturally, Lexi being the Descendants fangirl extraordinaire that she was, she followed them.

They walked into this bedroom and Lexi stuck her head in and then she the most beautiful thing ever!

She saw Ben get down on one knee and propose! Mal was about to say something but the only sound that came out of her mouth was some strange ringing noise. 

Lexi opened her eyes. That was her unicorn alarm clock ringing almost as if it were proclaiming to her that it was 7:00 AM and it was time get up and get ready for school. Lexi hit the switch and smacked it off her bookshelf because you don’t get between a fangirl and her dreams. It fell off the bookshelf. Then she just kept looking at it as she should feel guilty about smacking it. “Well, it serves you right for spoiling someone else’s perfect dreams. (Cinderella)”

By the time it was time to go to school, Lexi was still harping that she didn’t get here Mal’s answer.

“I’m telling you Mom,” Lexi was saying as she slid into the backseat with James “It was a great dream

Until my alarm clock woke me up!”. As the engine started, Conner got in the passenger seat.

“Wouldn’t you know what she was going to say already? descendants fangirl?” He asked

Lexi scoffed. “Well, yes, I would have at least liked to hear her say it okay?” She said sassily. Conner’s eyes widened. “Okay jeez!”. Mom looked at Lexi through the rearview mirror.

“Conner, Lexi don’t start’’ she said sternly. So, they were quiet for the rest of the drive. But Lexi was really excited to tell her friends about the dream that she had!

 

“Wow!” Breanna said as they sat down in their usual corner. “That sounds like an awesome dream!”

“Yeah! If only that could come true,” Gabrielle sighed. Lexi was about to say something,

When they saw a girl trip and fall and spill the things in her backpack all over the floor. “Ouch! That’s got to hurt!” Bridgett said. Breanna nodded.

“Yes, we should go help her,” she said. So, they went to help the girl pick up her things.

“Hey are you okay?” Lexi asked as she picked up the girl’s sketch book and put it her backpack. The girl nodded. 

“Yeah, I fall all the time I’m kind of a klutz” she said. Lexi smiled.

“It happens to the best of us. I’m Lexi, and this Breanna, Bridgett, and Gabrielle. What’s your name?”

Lexi asked. The girl smiled. “I’m Kaylee. Kaylee Frank”. Lexi returned the smile.

“Nice to meet you! Do you want to sit with us?” Kaylee smiled again.

“I’d love to!”. So, they walked back to their favorite corner of the gym with Kaylee with them.

“So, what’s your favorite color?” Gabrielle asked, making conversation.

“Green. Like a forest green” Kaylee said.

“Cool! Mine is hot pink “Gabrielle said, smiling.

“Mine is lavender. What’s your favorite movie?” Lexi asked. Kaylee smiled that big smile of hers again.

“Oh, I love Disney movies!” Kaylee said.

“Cool. What’s your favorite one?” Bridgett asked.

“Well, it’s technically Disney Channel, but Descendants,” Kaylee said. It was Lexi turn to smile.

“Oh, you have definitely entered the right friend group!” Lexi squealed.

“Yay!” Kaylee squealed back. Bridgett looked at her watch.

“Oh, we got to go to class now,” she said. Lexi looked at her watch.

“Oh, yeah, we do!”. She was always paranoid about being late. So they went to art, and then History. And then it was lunch period. As they walked to the kitchen to get their lunches, Lexi bumped into a girl and made her drop her lunch box. 

“Oh, I’m sorry!” Lexi exclaimed as she picked up the girl’s lunch box and handed it to her. She smiled at the girl, but the girl didn’t smile back. She glared as she walked away. “Ouch! That was rude!” Lexi said, sounding a little hurt. Breanna sighed. 

“Yeah, that’s Karen Keene,” Sighed Breanna. Lexi looked at the girl walking away from them.

“Who’s that?” Lexi asked. Breanna looked at the girl too.

“She’s not the most pleasant girl in this school. And she’s not that friendly either,” Breanna said in disapproval. Lexi sighed this time. 

“Oh, great we have one those girls now?” Lexi asked.

Breanna nodded. “Yep.”

 

The next week they tried to forgive and forget, but she just kept glaring at them in the hallway every time they walked past each other which, happened more then they wanted it too. Lexi was kind of reminded of a girl version of Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. Lexi was just trying to ignore her but she just kept on glaring. One day after lunch, as they were walking to book club and they got the usual glare,

Lexi had a thought. When they walk past her in the hallway, she was always alone. Maybe she didn’t have any friends. “Guys wait, maybe Karen doesn’t have any friends and that’s why she’s so mean. Maybe we should be her friends,” Breanna’s eyes widened

“Have you lost it?!” She exclaimed.

“What? Oh, come on let’s be the bigger people here and be brave enough try. Please?” Lexi begged.

Breanna sighed. “Oh alright,”

“Cool! We’ll introduce ourselves first,” Lexi said. So, after school, Lexi and her friends went to go talk to Karen. “Hey Karen!” Lexi said brightly. Karen raised her eyebrows.

“How do you know my name?” She asked

“Breanna told me. I’m Lexi,” she said and smiled. But again, Karen didn’t smile back.

“I don’t care. Leave me alone,” she said rudely.

“Oh, but I- Lexi began. Karen huffed at her

“Leave me alone!” she said again. Lexi frowned and walked away. Later, as Lexi and family were walking to the car, Lexi accidently ran into Thaddeus. 

“Oh! Sorry Thaddeus!” Lexi exclaimed. Thaddeus smiled.

“That’s okay!” He said. Lexi sighed.

“At least you forgive me when I run into you,”

Thaddeus raised his eyebrows. “What happened?” Lexi groaned and explained the situation.

“So, then I tried to be friends with her, but she does not want to be friends with me,” Lexi sighed

“Hmmm, what’s her name?” Thaddeus asked

“Karen Keene” Lexi replied. This time, Thaddeus groaned.

“Oh, I know her. I think she has a crush on me,” Thaddeus sighed deeply. Lexi raised her eyebrows.

“Wait, really?” Lexi laughed. Thaddeus nodded.

 “Yep. She’s constantly smiling at me, and twirling her hair around her finger whenever she sees me”

“Oh my gosh,” Lexi said. Thaddeus nodded again.

“Well, I got to go,” said Lexi

“Okay! I hope it works out well with Karen,” Thaddeus said

“Thanks! Bye!” Lexi said.

 

At school the next week, it was Halloween week, so everyone dressed up in their costumes.

Lexi, (Of course) was Mal, Breanna was Evie, Kaylee was Uma, Bridgett was Audrey, and Gabrielle was Dizzy. Karen went as just a witch. Lexi decided that she would try again with Karen. “Guys, I’m going to try again with Karen,” Lexi said. Breanna looked at her.

“Okay, it’s your funeral,” Breanna said. Lexi sighed.

“It’s not going to be that bad,” Lexi said. So, she headed over to where Karen was sitting alone dramatically, in the corner. “Hey Karen I think we got off to a bad start the other week and I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me and my friends?” Karen unexpectedly smiled.

“Sure! Will Thaddeus be there?” She asked. Lexi shook her head.

“No, He’s hanging out with my brothers,” Lexi said. Karen got a glare on her face again.

“Then NO!!” She exclaimed. Lexi raised her eyebrows.

“Why not?” she asked. Karen lowered her eyebrows even lower. (Seriously, how does she do that?)

“Because Thaddeus is the only good person among you all!! Now leave me alone and stop trying to get to know me!!” she exclaimed so angerly that Lexi ran away. When she came back to her friends, Breanna pounced on her. 

“So, what happened?” She asked her. Lexi shook her head.

“She is SO snarky!!” Lexi said, angerly. Breanna sighed.

“That does NOT sound fun, I’m sorry,” Breanna said. Lexi smiled.

“Eh, that’s okay. It’s not a big deal” Lexi said. “Besides, I don’t want to be friends with that snarky human,”. Breanna nodded.

“Yeah. Plus, who would she be with our descendants theme?”
