Chapter 1 of Fangirls!!!!!!!!

 

Chapter 1 The first day of NMFS (New Mexico Family school)

It was the first day of family school and nine-year-old Lexi felt nervous as she packed a lunch in the early morning of that Wednesday in September, 2018. Her brothers, Conner and James where downstairs packing a lunch too.

“What if don't make any friends?” Lexi lamented out loud as she put a sandwich in her lunch box.

 “I'm sure you will,” James reassured her

 “Kids time to go!” Mom called from the other room.             

oh no, Lexi thought as Mom, Cristy, Conner, and James got in the car. (Josie had gone to college a few weeks ago. I tried to pull it together, and failed)

“And worse, what if it's like PUBLIC SCHOOL? OOOOOOOOOOHH!” Lexi said, shuddering as she reluctantly got in the car.

“Come on Lexi I have seen how well you do making new friends in new wards, And I already told you It’s not like public school It’s a bunch of homeschool moms and their children,” Mom reassured her.

That whole drive, Lexi felt as nervous as Carlos when he was about to ask Jane to the cotilion (Yeah that nervous) and when they got there, Lexi felt as scared as Mal when Ben found the spell book in the napkin basket. breathe and pray. Lexi thought of the words of her wise older sister Cristy. She knows a lot about anxiety. Lexi prayed to HEAVENLY FATHER that he would help her to be confident and that she would make friends. “It looks a little ghetto” Lexi said.

 

“Yeah, a little bit, but it only looks that way because it is very old. It was established in the 80's or the 90's.” mom said. Every one grabbed their backpacks, and their lunch boxes and went inside. I can do this Lexi thought as they dropped their lunches off at the kitchen and went to the gym. James ran to the center of the gym because he has social dance class. Mom, Cristy, and Conner sat down because none of them had classes yet. Lexi was about to sit down when; something caught her eye: a group of three girls sitting in a corner of the gym. “Friends?” Lexi said too her mom.                                                                                       

“Why don't you go find out?” mom said.

 

“okay “said Lexi. Lexi walked over to the corner that the three girls where in. Lexi took a deep breath and started talking to the girls.  “Hi can I sit with you guys?” asked Lexi

 

“Of course,” said one of the girls. Lexi exhaled and sat down.

 

“Thank you,” said Lexi

 

“you’re welcome I’m Breanna, this is my little sister Gabrielle, and I think you know Bridgett,” said Breanna.

 

“Nice to meet you and Bridgett, I didn't know you went here!” Lexi exclaimed

Lexi and Bridgett auditioned for the same choir (Hands, hope, harmony, and high notes) children’s choir and Lexi, James, and Cristy all auditioned for the choir and did the choir summer camp and almost joined the choir till they found out their house was an hour away from the choir rehearsed so they couldn’t be in the choir. But Lexi and Bridgett had become good friends during summer choir, But Lexi forgot to ask the BIG QUESTION. (If she liked descendants) “So have you all seen descendants? and I’m Alexa, but you can call me Lexi,” Lexi said

“YES, WE LOVE DESCENDANTS!!!” The girls all squealed in unison

“YAY!!!” Lexi squealed “I have so much I want to talk about,” Lexi exclaimed

“We can talk about that at lunch because it's nine fifty-eight and class starts at ten” said Breanna “We’re all in the same class but it has to be split in two because it's very big” Breanna continued “and you and I are in the same class,” said Breanna

“Okay” said Lexi and they walked to class. First was art class Lexi had A LOT of FUN. The teacher, Mrs. Baker, taught them how to make a vanishing point and Lexi drew the best picture she drew in a long time. Next was history. It got a little boring after a while. “This is the longest hour of my life,” Lexi whispered

“Don't worry it's almost lunch period” Breanna whispered, barely moving her lips because if Mrs. Roberts caught them talking, that would be the last word they would ever say. Mrs. Roberts is a little crazy about talking. And then came lunch and Lexi was excited because she could finally talk about what she wanted to talk about. “So, while you were watching descendants 2, did you freak out?” Lexi asked

“Oh yeah” said Breanna “I yelled my head off,"

“So, did I,” said Gabrielle

“Me too,” said Bridgett

“How did you react Lexi?” Gabrielle

“I screamed and, I ran up and down the hall and, I hit my Ben barbie and, I stuffed him in my

barbie house bed and I said: “go prick the spindle Mal or Uma will not be back to kiss you!”

said Lexi “But that was cotilion I didn't really get mad when Mal and Ben are fighting like an old married couple,” Lexi continued “or when Ben tried to apologize, but that part is just sad to me now,” said Lexi

 “I agree, that part is sad” said Bridgett “But what is your favorite part in the first movie?” Bridgett asked. 

“I love Mal and Ben's first date. You might find this as a surprise but I have a BIG crush on Ben,” said Lexi

“No, really? I had no idea” said Breanna jokingly

“Do you have any crushes on someone from Descendants?” Lexi asked

“I have a crush on Carlos,” said Breanna

“I don't blame you he is cute,” said Bridgett

“Do you have any crushes on someone from Descendants Bridgett?” asked Lexi again

“I have a crush on Doug ooh he's SO cute!” Bridgett swooned

“What about you Gabrielle?” Lexi asked

“I have a crush on Jay,” said Gabrielle, timidly

“Ooh” said the girls. Gabrielle blushed as red as a tomato. Then the girls saw some people start clearing and putting away tables 

“We should help,” said Lexi

“Yes, we should.” said Bridgett and they started wiping down and putting away tables and chairs. Soon after they were done, it was time for P.E.  They did some warm ups and they played kickball. And then she went to book club and they started reading The Undercover Princess. And it was 3:00 so it was time to go. Breanna helped Lexi find the classroom where her mom was teaching (she taught the caterpillars class. That is what they call the toddlers class) 

“Bye Breanna see you tomorrow,” said Lexi

“Maybe we can text on our mom’s phones,” said Breanna

“Bye Gabrielle, bye Bridgett,” said Lexi So they all parted ways and got in to their cars, promising to see each other soon.

  The “Love is an Open Door” scene ☹😊 I jump at the sound of the doorbell. I’ve been sitting on pins and needles for thirty minutes after I got ready, waiting for Adam to come and pick me up for the homecoming dance. I was wearing a deep sapphire blue dress, one of the school colors. Adam would be wearing a red tie, our other school color.
