So, dear friends, I decided to rewrite book two because I had a better idea for the plot. It's much the same as the first one, but it's also different in many ways. Hope you enjoy it!!!! :D:D!
Fangirls, book two rewrite!! *SQUEALS*
Prologue
Lexi was dead to begin with! Oh, relax!
I’m just kidding! She’s still very much alive, but quite lonely, too. She moved
from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jefferson, Illinoi in the summer of 2021 and joined a new
family school and made a great new friend named Lilly. Her dad was in the
Military too, and she moved out a couple of months after Lexi moved in. It
was at that point when all of the other kids noticed what a fangirl Lexi was
and made fun of her heavily for it. So, Lexi was glad when they moved again to Sacramento, California. All of her siblings were moving out. Cristy had gone back to
college when they were in Illinoi, and Conner left on a service trip shortly after moving to California. When our
story starts, James had also gone on a service trip. So, almost
fifteen-year-old Lexi was holed up in her living room, trying in vain to cheer
herself up, in the quiet empty house. There was no luck in the matter. She
was crying and even Return to the Isle of the Lost (Her favorite Isle of the
Lost book,) wasn’t improving her dark mood, so she put it down as to not get
tearstains on it. Her parents heard her sniffles and came in to ask her what
was wrong.
“It’s too quiet,” Lexi muttered as a
tear slipped down her face. Her mom raised her eyebrows.
“Too quiet, huh?”
Lexi nodded as her
parents sat down next to her and wrapped their arms around her.
“You miss your brothers and sisters?” Lexi’s dad asked. Lexi nodded again. “We know it’s hard, but we’re still here. And we had some news.”
Lexi looked up at her dad as she waited expectantly.
Last night, Mr. and Mrs. Pieper had decided that they would retire in New
Mexico because they really loved it there and found some affordable land. The
other reason was that Lexi loved it so much, and they thought they should let
her finish high school in a place that was familiar. So, they told her. Lexi
instantly jumped out of her seat.
“Really?!” she squealed. Her mom and
dad nodded. “When?!”
“This summer,” her mom said. Lexi
squealed some more.
“That’s soon! Are we moving back to our old area?”
Her parents nodded and smiled.
“Oh, my gosh, thank you!” Lexi exclaimed as she threw herself at her parents and hugged them so tight. “I have
to go tell my friends! They’re going to lose it! Thank you!” Then she ran out
of the room.
Meanwhile, back at Lexi’s old stomping
grounds, the fangirls were all sitting in their little corner before class started. They were whispering excitedly, and Thaddeus, who was walking by, happened to hear
what they were saying.
“I’m so excited that the Pieper’s are
moving back!” He heard Breanna say excitedly. Thaddeus stopped walking. Did he
hear that right?
“Wait, what?” Thaddeus asked, coming
over to their corner. Breanna looked at him.
“Didn’t you hear the news?” she
wondered. Thaddeus shook his head.
“Well, obviously, I didn’t and that’s
why I’m asking,” he replied sassily. Breanna smirked.
“The Pieper’s are moving back,” she
said, enunciating the syllables so Thaddeus would be sure to hear it properly.
“Lexi’s coming home!” Thaddeus couldn’t help giving a cheer with the fangirls
as the news sank in.
“Wait, it’s just her, right?” Thaddeus
confirmed. Bridgett nodded.
“Yes. Cristy got married when Lexi was
thirteen, Conner’s at college right now, and James is on a service trip. It’s
just her at home.” Bridgett explained. Kaylee nodded.
“Yeah, she was texting me earlier this week and saying how lonely she was,” she sighed sadly. Thaddeus thought about that for moment. His old friend\crush would need some company, though he didn't have a crush on her anymore. He did however remember how close she was to her siblings.
“She’s lonely?” Thaddeus wondered,
sounding concerned. Breanna shook her head.
“No! I mean, yes, she is single, but
not the lonely kind!” she exclaimed. Thaddeus shook his head.
“No, no, that’s not what I meant! I
mean she’s feeling sad because she’s all alone, so maybe we should go over to
her house and try and cheer her up. I just want to be friends with her,” he
clarified. Gabrielle raised her eyebrows.
“So, you’re not going to ask her to
homecoming?” Gabrielle wondered, sounding slightly disappointed. Each year at
the beginning of the semester, the school always threw a dance that fourteen and
older could go to if they so desired. The fangirls were all almost fifteen,
except Gabrielle, who was about to turn fourteen, and Thaddeus, who was
sixteen. Thaddeus shrugged.
“Maybe I might, if there’s no one else
I want to ask and if she doesn’t have date,” Thaddeus told them. All of the
fangirls nodded, looking a bit surprised, but not saying anything. All the
same, they were all very excited to see an old friend again.
