Chapter 14 Free

Thaddeus sighed angerly as everyone got freed. That little parent murderer,

He thought fiercely. On the ground, Mal ran over to Lexi and Breanna. “How did you break the trap?” she asked. “I tried like ten different spells and nothing happened,” Breanna shrugged.

“Maybe you have to do it from the outside” she said. But they didn’t have much time to dwell on this. Thaddeus was attacking. They had to go. Mal, Lexi and Breanna did their magic and worked for a while, but Thaddeus was getting stronger with that scepter. But luckily, they turned around and saw that Kaylee, Bridgett, and Gabrielle were having sparks come out of their hands. 

“No way,” Breanna said.

“Mal, train them!” Lexi said. “Breanna and I need to fend him off!” Mal nodded and quickly took the other girls into a small garden for them to train. Lexi and Breanna and Thaddeus were trading spells for a very long time. Lexi and Breanna did a charm where the helicopter shook. Thaddeus did a spell where a bunch of poisonous spikes showed up all around them. The girls tried hard to avoid them. It was hard fighting that scepter. Maybe if they could just get it out of his hands. “Just give up, Thaddeus! Good always wins and you know it!!” Lexi exclaimed to the sky above. Ben raised his eyebrows. She spoke the truth. Suddenly all the fangirls came back to where they were fighting. 

“We can help!” they exclaimed.

And they were back to trading spells and charms. Thaddeus sent a bunch of venomous snakes right at Ben’s feet! Lexi gasped and got rid of them. Then she did a spell.  

“Try but you will never harm her, buried under suits of armer!” (Mal, descendants wicked world) she chanted. A bunch of suits of armer fell out of the sky and missed the helicopter. Kaylee looked at Lexi. 

“Really? You know that one doesn’t work,” Lexi raised her eyebrows. 

“What? I always wanted to use that one,” Lexi said. Kaylee shrugged.

“That’s fair,” she said. All of the sudden, Thaddeus blasted a fireball right at Ben and he narrowly missed it and set a hay stack on fire and Breanna blasted it with water. Then all the fangirls joined hands and performed a charm. 

“Beware forswear, shake, shake, shake, I dare,” suddenly with a strong force, the helicopter shook so much that Thaddeus fell out of it. Lexi gasped as he hit the ground, unconscious. His head had a hit a rock. Lexi all of the sudden started panicking. “Thaddeus!” she shrieked and ran to where he fell. She was hyperventilating. “Oh no please, please don’t be dead. That’s not I meant to do!” she was almost crying, when Thaddeus let out a little moan. 

“Mom? What happened?” he asked. Lexi sighed with relief. 

“Before I answer that, how much do you remember?” Lexi asked. Thaddeus looked confused, but answered. 

“Oh, Lexi. Well, I had the weirdest dream. I had a dream where my parents died then I ran out into a rain storm and I got struck by lightning and I thought you killed them so I tried to destroy Auradon and- he cut himself off as he was now aware of his surroundings. “Why does this look like the end of the dream?!” he exclaimed. Lexi gritted her teeth.

“Funny story. That was not a dream,” Thaddeus’s eyes widened and he gasped.

 “So, I really tried to destroy Auradon?” he asked. Lexi nodded.

“I really tied you up?” he asked. Lexi nodded again. “I ganged up with Hades? Where is he, by the way?” he asked. 

“He’s getting the spell taken off him. It turns out that he got struck by lightning too and that’s why he had the sudden desire kill Ben. Yes, you ganged up with him,” Lexi explained. Thaddeus suddenly frowned. 

“Are my parents really dead?” he asked sadly. Lexi nodded.

“Yes. I’m so sorry,” she said as she wrapped her arms around him. He buried his face in his arms.

“Great. Great news.” he muttered. But he composed himself. “I’m so sorry for the damage I caused. If I can help, I’d be happy to,” he said to Mal and Ben. Mal looked at him sympathetically.

“It’s okay” she said as she fixed everything with her magic. “From the sounds of it, you were not right in the head,” she said. Thaddeus suddenly felt his head.

“Ow,” he said, massaging his temples. Ben winced. 

“I think we better get you to the hospital. You might have a mild concussion. Or a major one,” Ben said in an undertone so Thaddeus wouldn’t hear him. So, they got Thaddeus to the hospital and they did a lot of X-rays. 

“Your head has a taken a lot of damage over the past week. You’re lucky to be alive” the doctor said. “We’re going to keep him in overnight” she said. Ben nodded.

“Thank you, doctor Parker,” he said. As they walked out of the hospital, Mal asked the fangirls a question. 

“Would you girls like to come to the wedding?” As she expected, they squealed.

“Do we ever!!” they shrieked. As the girls ran ahead of the pack, Ben started to talk.

“How do you think we can ever thank them?” Mal shrugged.

“Well, I think you would make a little fangirl’s day if you. . .” then she whispered in his ear. Ben looked confused. 

“Are you sure?” Mal nodded. So, Ben walked ahead to the girls and went up to Lexi. 

“Hey Lexi, I just wanted to thank you for helping us so much with this journey,” and then he kissed her on the cheek. Lexi first blushed, then she muttered 

“This is the greatest day of my life!” and then she faceplanted on the concrete.
